The Beatles would write the soundtrack of the 60s and split up in 1970, never to reform again. The group is widely regarded as the most influential band in the history of pop music. This talk is about the significance of this English rock and pop group on his life. Through the years he feels that his relationship with The Beatles has deepened. It’s those 215 songs, but also about their personalities and how they brought out the best in each other. About always finding new ways to challenge yourself. Michiel Tjepkema (1974) was associate professor at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Leiden University. He worked at the Council of State from 2018 to 2023 and currently holds a Chair of Public Liability and Mining Damage at the Open Universiteit and a chair in Administrative Law at the Radboud University. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Overheid & Aansprakelijkheid and (co-) author of numerous contributions in the field of government liability law, including loss compensation, the mining damage in Groningen, unlawful decisions and government relief. He is also a deputy judge at the District Court of The Hague.
