In this two-part series I dive deep into the Paul Is Dead urban legend and prove it was the brainchild of the Beatles: a dark and secret narrative they deliberately inserted into their music, album art, films and promotional material. In this first part of the series I examine the misunderstood Magical Mystery Tour film and bring to light shocking and previously unrevealed Paul Is Dead clues...!!!

All this time and nobody has admitted to knowledge of this hoax,as far as I know. That alone is remarkable. Thanks for the video Eddy. Looking forward to part 2.

Thanks for commenting. I agree: the fact that the Beatles' role in the hoax and these seemingly deliberate clues isn't discussed more is also remarkable. In my next video, I plan to discuss the various reasons for the band's denial in all this.

@@MidnightSocial To my knowledge the Walrus Was Paul is the only PID book out there (and it's definitely worth a read). It's a little off topic, but another Beatles book I like is You Never Give Me Your Money by: Peter Doggett. It focuses on the band's breakup and it's extremely well researched and compelling.

Loved your debut foray into doing a scripted video! Also, the graphics chosen, the font choices are all awesome. I really enjoyed the breakdown of the Magical Mystical Boy. The whole thing does raise questions for me, that only lead to more questions. I would think it was an abstract way of mourning Brian, but the strangeness pre-dates his death. And why Paul? Would it have started with him doing backwards recordings etc with the Robert Fraser crowd? Definitely dark and weird stuff. Really looking forward to Pt II!!

Thanks, Rich. I appreciate it. Honestly, I'm disappointed in the views so far: not that I'm all about the views, but for the amount of time it took to put something like this together, I'd want it to get more views than my average video not less. As a result, I might put Part II on the back burner. The upside to this is I'll tell you my theory right here in the comments: I think the Beatles were thinking about death because of the acid trips they were taking (facing and contemplating death is a common aspect of tripping). Back in 1965 on Boxing Day, Paul had a motorcycle accident and cut his lip and eye. There was briefly a rumor among the Beatle fan club that he was killed in the accident. I think this rumor is why Paul was chosen for the role of "the dead Beatle." Plus, Lennon was clearly the Walrus -- leading fans like oysters down a sinister path -- and then devouring them with a death hoax (watch the end of the "I Am the Walrus" performance in MMT and you'll see the Walrus leading the oysters down the path). Ultimately they were just having fun and injecting a dark subtext to their work and -- like I said in the video -- creating a mystery for the fans. However, after the Manson murders and the connection to the White album ("Heater Skelter", "Piggies"), I think this scared the Beatles straight so to speak. They didn't want to be associated with the murders or held accountable for them on some level, which they might've been if they were like, "Oh yeah. We WERE putting secret messages in our music dealing with death, blood, etc." Anyway, that's my take on the whole thing.

I think that theory makes alot of sense. It's also interesting how flippant they were about misinterpretations pre-1969 and then after they all seemed to be constantly at pains to be like "there's NO symbolism, NO mystery" etc. So, I totally agree with the Manson family thing plus the fact that Bugliosi was hot to subpoena Lennon and get him on the stand was totally over the line. I really do hope that you put out Pt II when you feel the time is right. I get the disappointment, and obviously you are not "doin it for the clicks". I had a similar sense with my Boredoms video. God knows why, but I really thought that it was "the one" which was going to blow up. But, 300 views in 4 days ain't nothin', your subscriber count is still going up, and everyone seems to love the video. So, while obviously you dont owe it to anybody, you know, keep on rocking because you're really great at it, and to paraphrase Joel Hodgson, eventually everyone who is supposed to see this and your other stuff will. What we leave behind outlives us in the grand scheme of things, to get all philosophical for a minute haha

@@richtalksrecords Thanks as always, Rich. Sometimes I think all my fancy editing is a waste of time: people just want to see me talk about music and be funny! 😜 I enjoy it stretching myself though. I'm sure at some point I'll do Part II just for the hardcore subscribers who loved it. Plus, it's evergreen content so it might slowly build a viewership overtime (something both my Melvins and NWOBHM videos did).

No blood on Paul's shoes. It is a reflection from Ringo's red colored kick drum. Also did not see Paul standing in blood. Maybe you need to listen to the White Album's Revolution #9. Car crash sounds and Paul moaning are clear as a bell. Might be other audio clues in there.

Yeah, I've heard the "Revolution #9" clues (and I'm planning on discussing them in the next video). Considering Paul is standing in a pool of blood (or whatever red substance they were using to suggest blood), I think it makes sense that's the red on the shoes (plus I don't see why his shoes would be reflecting a color since they don't appear to have a shiny texture). Regardless, thanks for weighing-in. This is fun stuff, huh? 😉

I think the shoes and blood that I could not see Paul standing in are an illusion . However I do agree that someone in the band WAS involved in the hoax. BTW here are the ending lyrics of I Am The Walrus (t y Shakespeare). The subject? Death ! Thou hast slain me Villain, take my purse If I ever Bury my body The letters which though find'st about me To Edmund Earl of Gloucester Seek him out upon the British Party O untimely death I know thee well A serviceable villain, as duteous to the vices of thy mistress As badness would desire What, is is he dead? Sit you down, Father, rest you

Some have suggested The Beatles' US label Capitol encouraged and probably even helped spread the Paul is dead rumors to increase album sales.

Great video man really enjoyed it. Never noticed some of those things in MMT. I was also fascinated by this in the 90s. The Beatles pretending not to know anything never washed. I mean Paul with a black carnation in 'Mother Should Know', come on! I'm reading 'Man on the Run' (McCartney in the 70s) now and there's an interesting section where reporters travel out to Paul's farm because of the death hoax. As fun as it is to look back, it must have been a trip hearing about it in real time. People speculating on late night radio and all that.

Well William Wallace Campbell says he is 30 on it in 1967 when Paul would not have been 30 till 1942. Nope not a honest video. William has six toes on each foot. I am not stupid and this video wasted my time. Goodbye.
