The Beatles performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
To mark the 10th anniversary of The Beatles Love show by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, a brand video has been created to represent the re-staging of George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently, using an acoustic version of the iconic song with a specially commissioned string arrangement by the late Sir George Martin recorded in 2006. This version is also featured on the Love album.
The evocative video was directed by Dandypunk, Andre Kasten and Leah Moyer and was shot in the Love Theatre at the Mirage Hotel and at other locations in Nevada. All effects were created using projection mapping and captured live, in-camera. No post production CGI was used.

@@yagesh287 He did get the chance after the Beatles disbanded & "All Things Must Pass" is arguably the best solo album that was produced by a Beatles member. However, it is a stretch, at least to me, to suggest that Harrison was able to produce the kind of magic that Lennon-McCartney did.

one of the most beautiful songs ever written????thats a tall order: above the classic arias of say Monteverdi and Handel pur ti miro for example or lascia che io pianga`? or England's John Dowland ub Darknes slet me dwell or Greensleaves or hymnsmeven modern Cat Stevens or the everley Brothers no no a good song but the most beautiful ever written frankly thats way over the top, that's hyperbole.

Magnetic tape recordings can sound extremely good even by modern standards. You just need to record on a large area and move the tape at high speeds and you’ll get something leagues better than a standard compact cassette. In fact, old recordings often sound better IMO, because they still have the dynamic range that is often lost due to the loudness war.

Without hesitation, my favorite Beatle is Paul McCartney. However, I find that in lists of all time favorite Beatles songs, George Harrison's songs, even though not as numerous, are consistently at the top of the list. Between While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Here Comes the Sun, McCartney and Lennon follow behind. As I said, I favor McCartney, but I gladly yield to Harrison on some of his songs. I even like Within You and Without You.

How did we get here and where do we go now?

Question:Why do older fans of the Beatles look down on younger or newer fans as if they don't actually like them?Your age has nothing to do with if you like the Beatles or not.Maybe leave them alone they are just enjoying the music.Who cares if they have been die hard fans since day one of not.
@MindGroper
@MindGroper 8 жыл бұрын
I've never encountered that but anybody looking down their nose at younger fans must be hung up on something other than the music. The music stands on its own. Maybe the older fans who do it are trying to give themselves a false stature to make themselves feel better. Maybe they are being possessive of the music which is ridiculous because once music is in the air it takes on a life of its own for any and all to experience and identify with. I love the Beatles. If I run into what you're talking about I'll do my best to keep it out of my heart and let them keep it in theirs. I have no use for that kind of thing. Take care.

But people like you overreact and blow their career out of proportion. Calm down. Let’s not forget how they ripped off Motown, Dylan, The Beach Boys, Ravi Shankar, and George Martin basically arranged their music. They certainly were the best at plagiarism! It’s all good though. They plagiarized but were good at making something new.

The Beatles had the most profound impact on my adult life and I am grateful to you four legends for creating so many memories of mine till eternity and blessing me with so much enlightening music... You guys have been a source of wholesomeness, enrichment, purity, divinity and whatever good there is left of this world we are living in... its only after I started listening to beatles that I found my heart and soul... before that I was a lost child in this chaotic world.... Amen to that.... George you will be dearly missed... and you too John... and Paul and Ringo too if you are seeing this... you guys are from a bygone era but your art and legacy will continue to move inspire and touch people's hearts for many thousands of years from now... you guys have touched my soul and inner spirit in ways I can't begin to explain.... I am too overwhelmed with pain and ecstasy to say anymore.... The Beatles are like the second coming of Jesus to me... I feel so blessed and gifted to live in times like these.... The Beatles music lifted mankind to its highest peak.... something we can't recreate even in the next hundred thousand years... the band has touched billions of souls and even that is a massive understatement and its impact can't be overstated... my admiration for beatles knows no bounds... in these darks times this band gives me hope and something to look forward to... gives me something to live for apart from just my family... if it was not for beatles I would have lost my will to live long ago... I can't hold it anymore... I am gonna break into tears.... please excuse me....

I first heard this song on or about 28 Nov 1968. I was a 20-year-old combat Marine, serving in Vietnam. I had so-far been in-country for 11 months. Too often, I had occasion to reflect on my life to that point. My high school years.... tormented by my high school peers, physically and verbally abused by my mother, betrayed, before deploying. This song touches my soul, down to my DNA. I understood and felt George's message, and his meaning of this song "...based on the theory that everything has some purpose..." I started to make some sense of where I was, what I was doing and wondering if would make it back home. Now, it has been just over 54 years. I recall in vivid detail where I was, who I was, who I was with and what was happening around me. I have a variation of HSAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory). Jeannie... I remember, I relive.... and I weep! 143!!

***** The LOVE version was a demo George Harrison made before the final White Album version was recorded, with a orchestrational score from George Marin. The original version can be heard on Anthology 3. The LOVE album is almost completely made up of recordings made back in the 60's, with only the orchestrations on WMGGW being a new recording. George Harrison passed away in 2001.

Honestly, we can't stand for nothing so where does that leave us as a NATION OR MANKIND. If we ever want to have anything we've got to stand for something. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Where did we lose those morals.
