Hahxi and La Petite (open in high season) are the best two places to eat! Emmanuel and his family at Hahxi are wonderful. We lived in Saranda for two years and were the first two people to receive the temporary residency for retirees in the spring of 2022. You cannot beat the view for the price, and it makes a perfect base to see Europe. And be sure to check out The Blue Eye, Ksamil, and Butrint. Butrint's Greek, Roman, and Medieval ruins beat anything we saw in Greece -- where we spent three months driving all over the country and the islands.

Hi Guys- Great to see a new of Saturday AM show from Saranda, Albania. The city looks awesome with great views. The place you are staying is great, and you guys have a knack of picking the best places to stay. As i always ask the name of the place so i can keep it for my travel notes. Seems like a good place to be in Feb to avoid the winter.

I was on 9-night cruise on Celebrity Beyond and Corfu Greece was one of the ports of call. I rode the 30-minute ferry to Saranda. I met group of Canadian/American on board the ferry and we had lunch there. Then went back to Corfu and able to visit both places before going back to the ship. Thanks for sharing!

The best part about a cruse is doing just that. Hitting a couple of locations in one day. We will be on a cruse in December, can't wait!

Thank you for sharing Albania. I was not really expecting how scenic, welcoming the people were and how it’s possible to get by with English - given the communist past. Great find. Look forward to your summary on Albania.

Enjoyed watching this video. Glad things are going well. You aren't missing much in Washington state 😅 - the lows (in the Seattle area) have been in the twenties all week. Me and my partner were down in Mexico a couple of weeks ago and are really missing the sun and warmth. She and I plan to do what you two are doing in a few years. Keep living the good life and and posting these videos to keep us motivated! 😅👍 Thanks for all the great content! Cheers! 🍻

I can only support what they say about the bus from Tirana to Saranda. It's easy once you're at the bus station. The trip is around 4 and half to 5 and a half hours and takes in some fantastic scenery. At 18€ euros one way it is a really economical way to get to Saranda

Just found your channel and really enjoying it! May I ask your thoughts on a couple of things to do with early retirement and travelling: 1. Income required per year to travel and retire like this? I have seen the videos on your expenses, but I guess you would also need to add the cost of flights too? Also other costs, new cameras, phones at some point etc. Maybe $20k each income per year? 2. Do you think you will ultimately need a house / base as you might not want to travel like this in say, 20 years? Thanks and look forward to more of these videos!
@BrianandCarrie2 жыл бұрын
Great questions!! We each budget $900 a month for all living costs and $2000 a year for transportation. So far we have been within budget. As far as phone, Camara gear, and other unforeseen expenses we really haven't had any that put us over our budget. We do plan on being under budget here in Albania, we will be over budget next month in Greece. Our goal moving forward is to find a place where we feel comfortable that's within our budget to settle down. that will be a few years away, but yes, eventually we will want to have a home base. If you haven't already watched our early retirement video it may explain our situation in more detail. Thank you for the support and for watching our channel. Cheers!!!

Be careful about real estate hustlers and touts in Saranda. The town is not as charming as you think. If you involve urself in renting or propery at all please take care that you are not involved with the wrong people.

@plos27652 жыл бұрын
@@theox9015 I meant exactly what I wrote. To be clear, there are people in Saranda that visitors need to be careful of. People looking for your money, and not in a good way. Here's a hint, don't accept friend requests from 'friendly local guide and fisherman'.
