Totally agree. They're the sweet spot of vehicles imo. I have a brand new car, brand new motorbike and the exact same Aventure 2 and it's almost always my vehicle of choice. So excited for the evolution of the platform as a whole in the future. A bike like the Aventure 2 with rear suspension, double the range or more and 50mph capabilities is just about the perfect vehicle provided you don't need to do hundreds of miles regularly.

Great to hear a perspective on "only transportation" and also comparing to a motorcycle, which an Ebike actually is. I don't own a car, been bicycling for 55 years, and because bicycles are horrible cargo vehicles, finally bought my first Ebike 8 months ago. The Ebike gave me a 150 pound capacity for cargo, something that would have broken any bicycle on the market in 1 minute. There are cargo bicycles available but cost $5000.00, that price for a convectional bicycle with just a longer reenforced frame is beyond insane, it is criminal price gouging, and I won't pay it. So, the new Ebike is taking all cargo duties and not complaining, no more broken racks and bicycles from cargo weight. Ebike is a nice name but make no mistake, it is a motorcycle, not a bicycle. The biggest shock when riding my Ebike for the first time, (that not a single reviewer ever mentioned) was the motor drag. I am a former pro cyclist, very powerful on a bike, and thought assist rage #1 is all I would need, but very wrong about that. The power I deliver to the bike basically just compensates for the motor drag, I can ride much faster and farther on a conventional bicycle. So, for an Ebike to actually be an assisted bicycle and useful for more than in town transportation, we need a simple solution for disengaging the motor from the wheel (hub motor) or from the crankset (mid drive) so all resistance is removed. And a complex solution for longer range with better lighter batteries. We have solved one problem, my new cargo bike (Ebike) was only $1200 complete, equipped with racks/mirrors/lights/baskets/tire sealant/locks. Take that you greedy SOB cargo bicycles!!!!!

Interesting take and points, but I definitely disagree that an e-bike is a motorcycle. There's a huge difference, motorcycles have astronomically more power go farther, and excel in just about every other way.
@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene10 ай бұрын
Have ridden motorcycles since 1977, off road, and street, sport bikes, cruisers, dual sport, full racing dirt bikes. Know both sports very well. Any time a motor and two wheels are combined, it is a motor cycle. The power a person adds to a Ebike is negligible, the motor is doing 95% of the work. @@MustBePerfectForever

p.s. I might have missed it, but I suggest you put links to your bike and gear - I guess they'd be in the about section now, I was looking for the bike link. Affiliate links if you can, and if you don't want affiliates then the links would still be helpful for subs.

Well-done. I try to share videos like this to get it out to people. With most of your viewers, you're preaching to the choir. I just bought my 4th eBike. (a Juiced HyperScrambler eMoped) I have a lightweight folder, (XP Lite) a cruiser for my wife, (Electra GO! 7D) and my all-around/commuter. (Aventon Level.2) It seems like you use yours mostly for adventuring. I'm more of an urban eBiker; I use mine for smaller shopping trips and doing my 4 mile commute, even during (most of) the Wisconsin winter.

One thing I carry with my e-bike all the time besides first aid kit and toolkit is a 4 amp fast charger wrapped up in a dry bag. that way when I'm out if I just have one battery with me I can take a break and get some coffee. Then bring the battery with charger into the establishment and charge it up I carry the battery and charger in a sling bag so it's more (stealth like). All kinds of establishments have electrical outlets inside. all it will cost you is usually having a meal or a snack or a cup of coffee while you charge .A lot of city parks and campgrounds and Hiking bike areas in the campgrounds have not only electricity but usb chargers. On my ebike I can easily manage 80 miles using my 48v 20ah on the full bike touring set up.after the main 48v 10ah is depleted all I have to do is un plug it then plug in 48v20ah. For economy I use pas 2 and 1 while peddling. The extra tools , tube , pump , first aid kit snacks & water are nessary Insurance. You may not always need to use them , but it sure is great peace of mind !
