@Y Y : The major flaw I found was simply that, unlike the rest of the game, this final episode really only drags you by the hand. Whereas Max would always ask me for a choice when doing something, this final episode felt like watching a movie where you just had to accept what the protagonist was doing, even when you might have better ideas or would just want to have some influence on this _video game._ Here, I could only follow Max along as she was taking questionable decisions. It really kills the interactivity.

This story made me think about the original timeline of what actually happened: Rachel has sexual relationships with Chloe, Frank, and Mr. Jefferson (from a letter that we can find in the junkyard hideout). According to Stella, Rachel and Mr. Jefferson also had sex. This could be because Jefferson seduced her with modeling and photography. So he had planned to take Rachel to the Dark Room. Nathan knows this (of course he does) and because as he said in the unused audio or from his treatment, Nathan likes Rachel, so he can't let Rachel get hurt. This made him decide to tell Rachel what was going to happen and made Rachel angry and confronted Jefferson (as we know he is a fearless and rebellious person) but that's where she was executed in the Dark Room for her photo to be taken and Rachel was angry (like in the photo Max found) then Nathan was there too and Jefferson gave Rachel an overdose then blamed Nathan that Rachel died because of it, because he told her, because Nathan felt sorry for her, because Nathan fell in love with her... Then Jefferson got Nathan drunk and took them both to junkyard to do an emo version of a "teenager love" final photo session with an unconscious Nathan and Rachel's corpse. After that Jefferson ignores Nathan, and Nathan feels bad about losing Jefferson's trust so he sends a letter (as we can find) in which Nathan says he's sorry he upset him for messing with Rachel and states that Jefferson is the only voice he can hear /believe. Jefferson still didn't respond to this and it made Nathan panic and frustrated. He goes to a bar to get drunk, but meets Chloe who tries to use him for money. Nathan is upset and he comes up with a nasty idea with Chloe. He takes her to the dorms, drugs her and takes photos of Chloe to be able to prove to Jefferson his skills/validation/that he still shares the same interests. But Jefferson isn't too impressed by this, even though Jefferson finally agrees to "cooperate" with Nathan again and has him drug Kate at a weekend party. That would mean October 5, 2013. Maybe Nathan was hesitant so that the anesthesia on Kate wasn't too strong so Kate could still remember what happened. But everything went smoothly in the Darkroom. Then one time on Monday 7 October 2013 Chloe sent a message to Nathan to meet in the bathroom a.k.a blackmailing him. That adds pressure on Nathan because he's already feeling stressed about all his problems and is starting to realize (maybe?) that JEFFERSON IS JUST USING HIM). He felt bad for Kate and still thought about Rachel, Chloe just made him lose his mind. He felt the need to carry a gun (I think it was a gift from Sean/Jefferson - following Max's comment that the gun was a gift)... They met in the bathroom, October 7, 2013 and that's when Max came into the picture.... After Max managed to stop Nathan from shooting Chloe, of course Nathan told Jefferson. That's why I think the one who sent Max a threatening message claiming to be Nathan's father and saying "consider this a last polite warning" was 100 percent def JEFFERSON not Sean, because Sean wouldn't bother caring about Nathan's drama. Jefferson had also been after Max from the moment Max came to Blackwell, that's why Jefferson was eager to have Max's contest photo and reasoned to take him to San Francisco (since that was the only best plan to sedate and intercept her) because Max didn't come to the Vortex party. And here, I thought Stella was the next victim (after Max) because Jefferson hired her at the Votex party, you know? Poor Stella.... This makes Nathan feel sorry for Max and he always has a tendency to be empathetic towards hurt subjects or victims or potential victims. Which makes it reasonable to develop feelings for Max as well as an obsession so as to have his photo displayed neatly on the wall. If you hate someone, you definitely tear or crush their photos, right? Although there is also a theory that suggests that Nathan displayed the photo (and kept the souvenir from Kate's altar) as a tribute to himself like serial killers always do - but that doesn't make sense, because 1. What did he really do to Max? Just destroying his room instead of killing her. 2. He didn't really want to hurt Kate/anyone, he said. Well, since Max didn't submit an entry for the contest, that means Jefferson put her off temporary as a victim. So he asked Nathan to change his plan to make VICTORIA the next victim. That's what made Nathan angry when he left the dormitory (according to Brooke, Ms. Grand and Samuel in episode 4) that "Nathan came out of the dorm angrier than usual" and Daniel's statement in episode 4 also that "Nathan was seen talking to Jefferson moments ago". But do you know? Nathan tells Jefferson after Max and Chloe ambush his dorm and Warren beats him up. Of course he complained to Jefferson... After that Jefferson found out that Max and Chloe were on a mission to reveal the truth. This makes him angry and finally threatens Nathan to kill him. Before that happens, Nathan regrets snitching and sends a voice message to Max (as we get in episode 5)... And Jefferson brings up Nathan being battered by Warren in front of Max in the Dark Room... How did Jefferson know? Yes, BECAUSE NATHAN TOLD HIM. And it's possible that Jefferson saw Nathan's battered face before killing him... The story of Nathan and Max is very complicated, but interesting and sucks in anyone... What do you think? ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
