Thank you so much for this reminder that we don’t have to feel pressured to move on the fast track, but we can still live a fulfilling life, experiencing and enjoying the simple things. I always feel guilty because I’m not living “life to the fullest.” I end up being stressed and anxious all the time when I’m not just living simply and enjoying the little things including just caring for my home. This was a good reminder that it’s still a fulfilling life as long as I enjoy it no matter how simple my days are.

Completely agree! Far too many of us just try and get through the mundane day to day life by looking forward to some big event (vacation, wedding, new car) when really we should be giving the mundane the romance and attention it deserves. 25+ years ago I read a book called Romancing the Ordinary by Sarah Ban Breathneach, and it changed my entire mindset thus changing my life. Every aspect of one's life can (and should imo) be romanticized. Just as a kinda silly example, I even put my mouthwash and other daily toiletries in beautiful vintage glass decanters (can find them for a song at most thrift shops and such) on my sink so that even when doing the most basic of morning tasks -brushing my teeth- I am still surrounded by loveliness, and it elevates the mundane 💜
