When Jonny mentioned the fact that Rodney lost only ONCE, reminded me of an interview I have read many years ago with the guy that defeated him, his name is Per Welinder. He said Rodney was sick or something and abandoned the contest in the middle of a run, but he was so good and his bag or tricks was so out of this world, that to this day Per feels like he didn't win at all.

There are a lot of these tricks that were done by flatland skaters at competitions in the 80's and when street skating blew up in the early 90's, it was uncool to do competitions or competition tricks. Those freestyle skaters of the 80's were really talented skaters, it's just hard to find a lot of footage of their tricks and their tricks kind of got lost to time.

yeah but this is dumb kind of, this is a waste of a decent skate career for youtube. Not a good look for the whole skate scene in general. This kid should of made a impact on the industry and been killing instead of like trying to emulate rodney mullen on youtube. He would of probably developed into a tech skater that could do alot more. Nobody wants to see someone try a single flatground trick 500 times and finally land it, people moved beyond that mindset like 25 years ago.

For those who are interested in seeing more about the real history of the Bebop, check out the video presentation I put together 3 months prior to this video Jonny put out and didn't mention. The video is titled "History of the Bebop Freestyle skateboard trick". Here's the link to that video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3i4ZKyBpMujhdU Also keep in mind that book Gunter wrote, came out after Mullen and Hans Lindgren invented their versions. Mullen never called it the Bebop before Hans called it the Bebop, his variation. I don't think there was a name for Rodney's version yet. I'll still call Rodney's version the half cab scarewalk.

Man, it would be so hard for me to skate in that park...not only because I'm still learning basic tricks, but the mountain views are absolutely spectacular!!!

Never seen that before. I'd love to see it with some air, and to see it held for a second before the final finger flip. Nice work.

You know, bebop music often uses 'between notes' in a musical scale. Wonder if this trick got the name because it goes ''between nuts''?
