One point to make: The Beetle was not the first air-cooled, rear engined car. The Tatra from Czechoslovakia was the first air-cooled, rear engined car and its often said Ferdinand Porsche got his idea for the Beetle from the Tatra.

Oh how I love my '68. Every time I see a photo of the interior I can literally smell the photo. The vintage VW community is large here in Norway. In 1969, Volkswagen sold 16,699 Beetles in Norway, setting a record that no car could break for the next 53 years. Tesla broke the record last year with Model Y. Needless to say, finding spare parts is EASY.

Chris, clear your calamder 2nd weekend in November. One of the biggest VW shows in the U.S. comes to just north of tampa. Called Bug Jam. Always over 500 VW strong. Take care. God Bless

Great job ❤ the old VW marketing was what cemented it into history...it was honest from "small wonder" to "do you have the right kind of wife?" to" it's what the snowplow driver drives"..Love looking through old magazines at the ads

Are you gonna go? I live in Bakersfield, its a 4 hour drive. I trust my 62 bug completely, however I am oncall and can't make it unfortunately.

Quick question for you, that I know you will have the answer to. I have a 68 autostick. Will a pre- 68 roof clip fit? I would like to have a full size sliding sunroof. If yes, what is the price range for a clip? Thanks again as always.

It should yeah. What year clip are you looking at? Did you see the roof we put in on that 68 we finished earlier this year? The Britax clip. Big three fold roof.

@@classicvwbugs I don't have a roof, I'm looking for a roof. I didn't see your video. Kinda of absent from KZbin last year or so. All my time has been focused on our rental properties. I will have to check your video. What was the price of your kit you installed. I would love a 3 fold. That would be my choice.
