Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left January 10, 2016. We started this KZbin channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Mingalabar, Kara and Nate, I didn’t expect to ran into you guys when I was visiting Mandalay. About 30 minutes before I saw you both, I was telling the two photographers that was with me about your vlogs and journeys. It was really nice to meet you guys in my home country 😊. I’m glad to see that both of you had a ton of fun exploring Myanmar .

One of the things I love about these villages, in almost every country you visit, are the local markets. The produce there is so colorful, so fresh, and you really get a feel for the locals. And I love getting to see the children, who look so happy living in the moment and enjoying life (without technology).

I never had the desire to travel to south-east Asia before - my travels were mostly around Europe with an amazing journey to New-Zealand and the south-pacific islands. After literally one vlog of your trip to Myanmar I started looking for flight prices. This place looks amazing and after the second vlog it's definitely on my bucket list. Have an awesome time in Myanmar! I can't wait for the rest of it!

I love watching your guys vlogs because of how real you guys are and how much you appreciate all of these cultures and researched about them and explain the history behind them. And you geniunely seem interested in getting the authentic experience in each country versus a lot of other travel vlogs where it's like "I'm staying in this five star hotel eating at americanized restaurants the entire time - but hey here's my outfit of the day!" Thank you guys for being so incredible.

We really enjoy how you mix budget and luxury. And we were particularly pleased with the way you told us about the country using the map, bringing in the "bad news" bit. In England, we only got to hear about the slaughter of the Muslims and how they escaped to Bangladesh. But your vlog has showed us that life is very different to all the news we have heard. It reminded us of your Laos cruise. Really looking forward to the rest of the cruise. Excellent as usual xx

The reason their are only 4 tourists is the campaign here in Europe to stop tourism to Myanmar after their massacre of the rohyngya ethnic minority. The manager who explained the problems attributed it to the British " wielding a pencil". But Burma became independent in 1948 within the boundaries that it has always had since before it was part of British India at the beginning of the 19th cent. It has always been a country of many ethnic minority's but British rule never caused ethnic problems. After independence it became a military dictatorship with incredible corruption and violence against minority's who resented the lack of democracy. In spite of this I love your vlogs and look forward to each one. Just wanted the record straight. By the way most of the problems in the Middle East were caused by mr Sykes and m. Picot, two civil servants , carving up the Ottoman Empire in 1923 by drawing pencil lines on a map. Look at a map and note the straight lines caused by their ruler. Lol

I mean...it could also have to do with the fact that it's over $3000 dollars a person, for a cruise in SE Asia. I don't live in SE Asia so that I can spend a fortune. $3000 could last me half a year (and did).

Brandon Lovett . If you check tourist arrivals for 2018 they have plummeted. Since the rohynga massacre became public. In spite of the costs arrivals were rising. Now dropped off a precipice.

John Forbes I’m not going to disagree on all the map lining, independence and military rules. Yes, they’re all true. But Myanmar is a democratic country now and was just minding its own business when the rohingyas started invading the native’s territory. Would anyone let strangers into their house without any permission? No. You see, there’s always 2 sides to a story. What everyone is seeing from the media is the rohingyas side of the story. I’m not causing any hates between anyone but I do not want anyone to say or complain or offend anything without considering both sides of the story

Aleinmar 04 your grasp of the facts is somewhat loose. The rohynga ethnic Muslim minority have been in Burma since the early 19th century. They were simply people who migrated to Burma from the Muslim north when the area was part of India. During British colonial rule they were never a problem. Now under the military dictatorship that rules Myanmar with a rod of iron and total corruption they have become victims of unjustified ethnic cleansing.

Watching Myanmar through your videos is the only way I'll ever 'visit' Myanmar. No way I'm giving money to a country so blatantly committing massacre of a whole ethnic group. Their leader Aung San Suu Kyi who is a nobel peace prize winner should have her titles stripped for doing nothing and denying everything. Myanmar is beautiful no doubt. But I'm just afraid any money I give to its tourism is going straight to its dictatorship rather than the local people. Bur just to set the record straight though, I love you guys, everytime you upload a new video I get so excited!

Myanmar is not at all a dangerous place. Conflicts just happened at the rim of westernmost border with Bangaladesh thousand miles away from where they are now travelling. In Mainland, no war no conflicts nth at all. No suicide bombers, no guns, no reasonless killers like the case in LA america, or western europe. but just some normal crimes of any society like thieves, mugs, etc. Myanmar people means no harm but they are not a saint but just normal human beings.

So I stumbled upon your channel a while ago and really enjoy your style of traveling. This is the exception to your whole channel and actually started an argument between my husband and I as far as how to comment on a geopolitical issues as well as how to be a citizen of the world. I am sad to have read through the entire comments section to see that you guys have not replied or acknowledged that you may have made a mistake. In my opinion, mistakes are how we learn, make changes in ourselves and when that happens it should be praised. I understand being on brand and that this is your job, but to be so flippant to the plight of these people is in total contrast to your message of helping others as you have in the past (see Africa videos, India videos, and other mission trips). Please address this in the comments section or a video later, because I really think you owe that to your viewers.
