The Bendy Dev's Forgotten First Game

Wow! Well, this was a blast from the past! :D After testing this game a lot back in the day, I can say that MeatlyMakes will definitely make your hands hurt. O.o Oh! Actually, the Downfish, as shown in my comics, is a manifestation of your own self doubts and inner personal struggles with imposter syndrome, nothing to do with coworkers. The Downfish is the voice in every developer's mind that they aren't good enough to do something, or never will accomplish something great. I think we can all relate to that.. developer or not. :) These are thoughts I have daily myself no matter how successful I get with other things. Sometimes our own "Downfish" is the push we need to overcome our fears and power on! Also, this is not even close to my ACTUAL first game as I have been making games almost all my life.. :) But this is the first one I made under the name theMeatly and lot of the other games have been lost to time. The comics themselves arose because of my own failures in game development up to that point. I realized other devs would probably relate to my struggles and so theMeatly comic was born. :) Thanks for this fun walk down memory lane!

one of those little critters could easily depict a writers/creative block, something that every creative understands intimately. I'm actually a bit surprised that wasn't one of the enemies in the game considering it can make or break a project sometimes.

Hey man! I don’t want to get technical with you but MeatlyMakes isn’t actually the Meatly’s first game! His first game was a game called Meatslayer: Death or Dash. It’s been delisted from the mobile stores but from what we saw from the trailers, it was similar to Jetpack Joyride but was essentially a side scrolling auto runner where you had to beat up enemies.

This was a cool video hadn't heard of this game and it's a shame it got so overshadowed by The Meatlys future stuff, as small as this is I think it's always cool to see the niche early works of different indie devs :3

I relate when you said that you can replace the enemies with other things as someone who is currently trying to make music again. The cloud is too many ideas and even the act of procrastination. The glitch thing is my music program acting up. And the thing that's supposed to represent toxic workers can represent my own anxieties because I'm always my own worse critic.

I'm actually have wanted to make a game for some time now, however the main thing that discourages me is coding. I have some experience with blender and know what I have to do and want to do with my projects, but the intimidation of knowing I need to learn a game engine is scary to me. That and the fact I don't like forcing myself to work doesn't help.
