Off top of my head.. GRASSES: Indian, big & little blue, side oats grama, Virginia & Canada wild rye. 2 varieties of switch. FORBS: Maximilian & ox eye sunflower, purple cone flower, several prairie clovers, brown/black eye Susan, IL bundleflower, partridge pea, rattlesnake master, wild bergamot, few daisy’s & bunch more in back of my brain somewhere. 👍

How about the channels who says crp isn't good? I have always questioned that.

Quit watching any channel that tells you that.

I’d gladly have that constructive debate if anyone had that view.

Skip, I have just under 20 acres of tillable. Is it worth it? I live in Southern Washtenaw County Michigan

GOOD ? !!!!! U right on the threshold. Do u combine the crops off? If yes- I’d put like 12-15 in and make a couple legit food plots. Other things like: u have good farmer or is it pain? Soil need some rebuilding? How does tillable lay & would CRP help with entrances & exits for hunting? If u ever wanna fire me an aerial that might help too
@tomlinjohn391 Жыл бұрын
I do not combine them. The crops are habitat corn and beans.
@Iowa_Whitetail Жыл бұрын
@@tomlinjohn391I might put half in. Just to refine them down a bit more & add some habitat. The fact that u leave them up…. I do like that. That’s a LOT OF FOOD!!!! U could reduce your costs if u took part & put to CRP. 10 acres is still a lot of food. If your deer #’s & damage to the food is INSANE - I would NOT put in CRP. If what u have is way more than needed- I would put some in.

@@tomlinjohn391BTW- love washtenaw. I’m from MI & hunted everywhere for years. My favs were washtenaw, Jackson, van buren, Kalamazoo & hillsdale counties. Nutrition & genetics & habitat are as good as anywhere in country in that southern belt there.
