I've hear from the old movie gun rental companies that the 92F are the most reliable guns to run blanks with. Probably why John Woo likes using them. Chow Young-Fat mentioned in "The Replacement Killers" he fired so many blank rounds in one day he couldn't eat with chop sticks for a week. 😂

Sounded like an intentionally written in commercial and it surely worked.

The beretta is one of the most beautiful and timeless designs, it looks amazing stock and modified. It’s also extremely soft shooting, accurate and easy to manipulate, the older models were pretty big in the grip but modern models are extremely ergonomic, and one of my favorite things is that it’s the very best pistol to run a silencer on, not only does it not need a booster and piston but you can use a trilug on it.

I would like to bring up the most accurate depiction of the 92FS. The movie Colors. Also a very realistic portrayal of police work. Robert Duvall as Hodges carries one. His younger partner McGavin carries a 6" S&W .38 spec. A common weapon for LAPD officers of thst era. He would have been a 5 year vetetan to become assigned to CRASH. Which places his hira date prior to the adoption of the 92FS by LAPD. Which was 1985. They were monitoring the US military trials. Sig P226 was not made in the numbers to supply that department and relied on importer Saco Defense to bring to the US. Beretta was ready to go. CRASH officers were already using the 92 versions with mag release near the trigger gaurd. Some personal 92FS's were also showing up. Two autos were authorized. 92FS and S&W 59. The 59 had issues feeding JHP ammo that weren't rectified until 1989 with the 5906. The Beretta 92 from day one ran good with JHP ammo. Many officers did not trust semi autos and they werent really authorized anyway unless SWAT or another speciality allowed or required it. So McGavin was one of these wheelgun loyalist. He uses a stainless 3" .S&W for off duty and plainclothes work and uses a 2" as a backup gun. While you would think Hodges would be of that opinion what was shown was more accurate. As soon as the 92 was issued department wide it was fine to keep your revolver as your duty weapon and many officers did. But a lot of older officers by that time had enough of the 6rds and slow reload times. Many officers that had on duty shootings opted for the 92FS. Colors doesnt depict much for officer involved shootings. McGavin as well as every other officer opens up on Gerardo "Rico Suave" Meja after he shoots and kills Hodges. They also smoke that hot latina bitch that was next to him when he did it. But that is the extent of the two main characters gunfighting. Lethal Weapon is cool. Its more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard. Opens up with Jingle Bell Rock. Riggs kills more people just escaping the nightclub than Mclane kills the entirety of Die Hard 1. Including that weird perv looking fast draw dude sitting at the bar. He also does a firing from retention point blank range drill while pulling his offhand into his chest so he doesnt shoot it early in the film. But Murtaugh finds Riggs carrying a 92FS to be unique. At that time it had been department issue for 2 years. Thought he clearly is familiar with the weapon he would have seen well over 70% of his co-workers already carrying it. His new partner carrying one wouldnt have been worth mentioning. Colors doesnt explain anything about the depiction of the weapon to the audience. I met a retired LAPD officer who moved back here to Albuquerque where he was from. Very much a gun guy and was there during that time. The depiction of the gangs in the film and their firepower was also accurate. The amount of cocaine purchased to make crack often put early street gangs in contact with arms traffickers that could obtain full auto weapons. The MAC 11 9MM was very common and there were a lot of easy to convert open bolt versions produced and sold before ATF ended that. Sorry for the long post but i thought it might be relevant and as always i loved this video and you're unique movie pics for my favorite gun. First got a 92 when i was 13. Im 46 now and it is what i choose assuming 9mm is appropriate for the job. Ive had really good luck with them. I also maintain the ones ive had over the years and use good magazines. So all of mine have worked.
