So ViewSonic recently sent over their brand new monitor, the ViewSonic Elite XG270 for me to check out! It's a 240hz 1080p IPS panel, with 1ms response time and loads of other cool gamer features, including motion blur reduction technology approved by Blur Busters - Is this the best 240hz gaming monitor? Hmm, really? Every time I've googled it, everyone says premiere pro isn't optimised for macs at all and doesn't run anywhere near as well as a windows machine. That's interesting you say that though. I've been having an export issue - Playback and everything is fine, but after I export I get glitches/artifacts on the video. Turning off hardware acceleration in export menu fixed it for now, must be some GPU drivers not playing nice atm haha, normally runs without a hiccup.

hi i liked your review and I have a question I just did not come across the viewsonic company, although the old company in the monitor market is new to the gaming segment. The question is that they have their own functions in the responses, judging by blurbusters and rtings, their responses are not optimized well (1ms but 3-4ms and others like asus tuf, dell alienware faster than 2.3, etc.) but they have overshoot But do you feel that there are overshoot on the maximum monitor overclock with 240Hz?

Please test strobe below max Hz when you next test a Blur Busters Approved monitor. NVIDIA caps their strobe rate, while ViewSonic uncaps their strobe rate. Unfortunately, most reviewers aren't aware that uncapping is a courtesy (like CPU clockrate uncapping) even though it gives user access to more flawed strobing. For example, 119Hz/120Hz strobe on XG270 is superior to 120Hz ULMB on NVIDIA GSYNC monitors! Remember, refresh rate headroom creates superior strobing on a well-tuned monitor, especially for framerate=Hz operation where Hz is below maxHz. A little known secret that Blur Busters Approved tunes for, is that 120Hz strobe is superior quality on a 240Hz panel than 120Hz strobe on a 144Hz panel.

@@juliwomp if you have a 240hz monitor and the option to use the strobing on 120hz then yes. Also make sure that your fps ingame is stable 120fps as well.

Another high quality video from you, love the lighting mate. For the monitor i don't know to be honest. Price is actually pretty decent for the features it packs plus it's viewsonic with their immensely good quality control on their monitors but 27inch, IPS and you basically have to wait for a firmware update to get a decent backlight strobing that just has another different name for it. Meh this ain't gonna be a successful monitor for comp gamers. AOC is releasing a WQHD 240hz with AUO's new "0,5ms" reaction time panel. That AOC has more chances than this one but I'll give it credits for the price, not bad. Also nice hhkb board 😁

I just don't think any tournament would go for these monitors anyway, benq zowie has a too strong presence in the scene (overrated monitors but everyone thinks they are the best 🥴) Would look forward on a review for the new AOC if you can get the hands on it btw

you realize that whole .5ms 1ms thing is a marketing gimmick right and its only a measurement of GTG response something that's almost pointless nowadays with how good every panel is. If you really wanna know something most of these monitors including TN panels all sit around 4-5 ACTUAL GTG anyway with actual usable overdrive settings. The biggest more important things is error rate because that causes inverse ghosting and refresh rate compliance which this and the other new IPS panels are actually 100% 240hz compliant something most TN panels are not ( sit around 94%). Also these IPS panels have the lowest total latency of any monitor currently available even the new gen TN panels....... that means from clicking your mouse to seeing it happen on screen these IPS panels are faster. The only thing the IPS panels fall behind in is black level stuff they tend to struggle to really produce real Black and usually ends up more gray. The New gen TN panels say .3ms .5s ms but they are still literally the same speed as last gen the only difference is the new TN panels have better sRGB now compared to previous generation which if your TN panel was bought anywhere from 2011-2019 you've just been buying the same Panel over and over with new labels slapped on it.

it's already been tested? you realize monitors all basically pull from the same panel right? any monitor currently out that has the new generatio AOU IPS panels are essentially using the same tech. This Monitor is exactly the same as the upcoming AOC AG273FZE they use the EXACT same panel it's just how they calibrate it and setup the overdrive and what extra features they slap in that matters. the 24inch cheaper IPS panels are doing 100% compliance at 240hz with like 3% error rate so I'm sure these more expensive 27 inch don't have a problem.

you can lower the refresh rate to something like 234 or some shit and basically get little to no crosstalk with pureXP im sure itll get better with time its the one thing this monitor has over most is the fact it can be firmware updated constantly literally first monitor to ever prioritize this

Not really. I use a 27 inch LG IPS 1080p 144hz monitor and it works well. Anything more than 27 inch 1080p will get blurry.

you'll be waiting till July 1st to get that monitor if you order it you realize that right? Also the alienware has the same IPS panel as the MSI Optix IPS so if you wanna see how it performs just youtube that one since its been tested alot. They are literally the same panel and Dell wants 50 more dollars + July 1st shipping. In terms of this panel vs the alienware this is a superior IPS panel with more features and once the COVID stick crisis ends will probably go back down to about the same price.

Would this be a noticeable upgrade from a Samsung C27HG70 1440P VA Panel for shooters like CSGO? I've played on the Pixio px5 hayabusa 240hz at lan center nearby and it's a little better overall than mine but it still has noticeable motion blur like mine does, though it's a tidbit more responsive. Is the XG270 worth taking the plunge if you have already tried other 240hz monitors but didn't notice much difference over your 144hz 1ms strobed monitor? If it truly is like CRT motion clarity I'm 100% interested lol.
