Last year I got gen 4 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero/Shogun. First I was looking for a Prado but it was very expensive for me. I am very happy with the Pajero and it is very solid car. Off-roading and photography are also things I like. Enjoyed your video.

The Pajeros are excellent especially for the price! Thanks for the comment and support 🔥

I miss my GQ patrol. I owned it for 14 years. Old school look, super reliable but coils all around, icy cold AC, electric windows and mirrors and central locking. The only thing i wish it had which will upset some people is ABS for road safety and maybe airbags. It was 23 years old when i sold it and zero oil leaks or mechanical issues. I now have an 18 year old GU patrol with a super reliable 4.8 litre petrol. A little thirsty but very comfortable, quiet, no mechanical issues and no oil leaks or drips.

Thanks for the comment! Honestly I get it with the ABS it's certainly nice to know you have it then lock up and slide into the back of another car. The 60s brakes are shocking and always felt unsafe. Glad the GU is serving you well now though, such good 4wds for basically everything

@@CatchysAdventures I looked at Prados after watching this video as they would suit me well but looks like they still have the covid tax!

@@JimmyLLL yeah they have been pushed up like crazy price wise currently due to the new Prado coming out and just people asking crazy prices. I was lucky enough to get mine for under 20k and used money from selling a Mazda 3 I owned as a daily.

We have a 80 series which has been a great vehicle. Cost abit more on fuel and maintenance but it is mainly used only on weekends. Have a brand new next gen Ford Ranger for a work vehicle and still like getting in the 80, just feels tough and confident on any terrain. Ploughs through the beach sands easy and have dropped straight into mud holes and make it way out easy. Went with a 120 series Prado in the bush and it did really well at first. Only thing is the motor has a lot of low equipment that can get damaged easy is mud or slushy crusher dust sand. One trip cost my mate a heap of cash, bearings, starter motor, Alternator and his turbo which was probably his fault for disconnecting the exhaust at the Cat.. which let sandy mud into the turbo. This is where we found the 80 shined large tall motor with the important parts high above the ground. The 80 series was very well designed for this time. Air con is cold and PS,CL and even cruise control work perfectly. 350km on clock. Love the detail in the video mate.

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the videos details! An 80 series is a sick 4x4 and honestly a big step up from the 60s overall. Glad to hear your 80 is still going strong and is your favourite still!

The algorithm is getting inside my head, first the fulcrum KZbin, then the Facebook ads, and now KZbin recommended your brand-new channel to me on my home page haha. Great video and raised some good points. I think the video compression was a bit too high so I was double-checking myself if I was indeed watching in 1080p. Subbed and keen to see what you've got planned next. Do you think you'll do some fixes to the 60 or put all the energy into the 120? My adventure vehicle is a Mazda BT50; didn't intend to use it for adventure but I bought the bug and it's taken me everywhere I want to go and have some awesome camping memories that I wouldn't have ever had otherwise.

Haha I was wondering how long it would take for someone to recognise me from Fulcrum videos, I guess my first video here 😅 thanks for the heads up on the compression, I'll have to play around with my export settings for the next one to see what KZbin doesn't turn into a blur fest. The 60 I'll likely be selling unfortunately just purely due to the time and money investment required to keep it on the road with the rust thats plagued it currently. It is a bug indeed, once you go out camping or even just for a drive it can be pretty addictive. Thanks for the support and I look forward to producing my next video.

@@CatchysAdventures Didn't take long did it haha. Well if it helps with the compression; I usually find good results if I upload 1-2 GB per 10min video before KZbin squashes it with their own compression. Static shots don't get affected much (since most of the pixels aren't changing much), but the driving sequences or spinning around with the camera in your hand tend to get affected the most by compression since every pixel is changing by a lot. Sorry to hear about the fate of your 60 series but it makes sense, especially if you've fallen in love with the Prado. Thanks for your bite-size informational videos on the Fulcrum channel; it's helped me a lot and convinced me to try the parabolics.

I wanted something modern, good on the highway and would get me onto the beach for a bit of fishing. Also we have some unsealed roads that I occasionally drive on and the old car was just too low. I also got stuck with it on the beach. So for us, our best option was a Subaru Outback. Loving it so far. It ticks nearly all the boxes and we won't be doing serious 4WD. The Subaru for what it is capable enough for our adventures

Awesome to hear! That's the beauty of it, we can each decide what suits our needs and go with that! Thanks for watching and commenting.
