Mike, you are a lifesaver! I spent months doing research here on KZbin, and thousands of dollars to get my voiceover setup (including new MacBook) but. I can hardly record an audio file on Adobe audition. Never used such a program before and I’m seeing how extremely difficult it is to learn. Thanks for the tutorials!!

Thanks Mike! I am self-taught and I figured out a process to create sound design and manipulate the voice recordings for my audio drama that gets the job done, but I have no idea if it's the "right" way, and am looking to improve in efficiency and industry best practices. You're the best and thanks again for sharing your knowledge!!!

Thanks. There's often many different ways of getting things done in audio production but hopefully the videos help.

Amazing! It would be SO helpful if you make a preset for Narrators trying to upload to ACX with the requirements of : -Each file must measure between -23dB and -18dB RMS - Each file must have a noise floor no higher than -60dB - Peach file must have peak values no higher than -3dB or do a video specifically for audiobook narration and how to reach these levels? I love the way you explain things so clearly!

Hi Georgia, have you checked out our presets? They may go a long way to help you achieve what you're looking to achieve? mrc.fm/presets. There's also videos on the channel on how to use them and mix down with them. Hope this helps

How do you do fade-in and fade-outs in audio - flip audio forward and backward like a gong noise - cut and paste in the same track - crop the silences at the beginning and the end in one shot?

To crop the silences select the audio you want to keep and select crop.

Great info! Thanks!! I've been using Audition for music production for a while. For some reason when I record the multitracks they don't align good; I would have to align each track manually; that really a pain in the neck. Is there a way to fix this?? Thanks again for the info.

Mike I have a question for you. I have maybe a known problem to you, but I don't know how to resolve that: So while I am playing over my headphones base of my song while I am recording a vocal over it , sound of the base can be pick up from my headphones by my microphone and that remain on my vocal track. How can I avoid that?
@MikeRussell4 жыл бұрын
Hi, it's one of two things. The simpler one would be headphone bleed and that you could solve by either turning down the volume in your headphones or getting headphones that allow less audio to escape. The other reason could be your recording setup, what are you using to record? Could it be that Audition is being fed back the audio that you're listening to?

You need to set the N key up for Normalize. Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts... in the menu to configure.

Why are you recording voiceover in stereo? Why doesn't anyone answer me when I ask this?
@MikeRussell Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t matter whether you record your voice in stereo or mono. The human voice is only mono anyway.
@zippyzee Жыл бұрын
@@MikeRussell so to save drive space and get a bigger visual waveform in a multitrack window, recording in mono is ideal.
@MikeRussell Жыл бұрын
Recording in mono won't alter your ability to add stereo effects to the voice in multitrack
@zippyzee Жыл бұрын
@@MikeRussell right, if you record v/o in mono, when you need to apply stereo effect you can convert that portion of the mono v/o to stereo.
