Tint, and upgrading stereo and/or speakers (especially for older cars) really goes a long way, and doesn’t look as weird as just adding a lip/splitter/diffuser to a mostly stock car. Bonus thought, get your car detailed and paint corrected, bringing a used cars paint back to life will look great.

I´d rather get a good set of detailing equipment, might actually be cheaper than having a professional detailer detail your car once and detailing your own car is one of the most satisfying things you can do, plus learning a new skill always pays off (more or less literally). If you want something no one else has, get a decent set of painting equipment and learn to use it, most painting shops can mix custom colors for you (at least where i live) and with a bit of practise you can get a good finish (get any old bumper or hood or fender at the local dumpster and just repaint it over and over till you´re satisfied with the finish, then do the stuff you want to have on your car). And last but not least: customized floormats, you can get them in all sorts of colors and materials and have fully customizable stitching on them.

@@thatguy12 honestly if I had an actual garage then yeah I would definitely considering DIY but after trying to paint my spoiler outside hours of hardwork of sanding and patience. The wind decided to blow and flipped my spoiler landing on dirt. Gave up at trying to spray paint again until I can get a garage or room that I can do it in.

@@EnhancedTrashBin oh yeah thats frustrating. I overlooked the fact that not everybody has a garage. Are there none available where you live or are they just very expensive? I share a 400 sqft partition of an old industrial building with 4 of my mates, the rent is acceptable when split 5 ways. We just need to coordinate who does what when, because we can only fit 2 cars in there, if neither of them needs much space around to work.

Sway bars and strut braces are also some cheaper mods that are definitely worth the money.

I feel like lowering springs have become almost criminally underrated because of how many people assume you need to jump straight to coilovers

I mean, depends on what car. On some newer sports cars and luxury cars with better suspension, many cheap mods like lowering springs are just a direct downgrade in every way except being cosmetically lower. A top quality coilovers kit, or even just too tier shocks, for several thousand for all 4 is the only real upgrade.

Idk man, just bought coilovers on ebay for $300 and it sure was worth the hassle. Only problem is that you will feel everything on the ground but the good thing is that its so fun in corners.

Polyurethane bushings would definitely be a great cheap upgrade, it will make your driving stiffer and they last a lot longer than traditional rubber bushings

I would do a ceramic graphene coating something in that nature something for protection wise. They typically don’t cost a whole lot they’re easy to do as long as you do proper prep of your car.

1. Rear wiper deletes (glas plugs prefered if mounted on glas) 2. orange turn signal bulbs with clear or smoked glasses even in the tail light/headlight 3. Interior mods. Shifter knobs/sacks, seatbelt pads (recaro/sparco/etc.) or floormats 4. Some Nice, lug nuts/bolts/hubcentric rings/center caps. 5. Maintenance parts, air or cabin filters/brake pads/paint repair/wheel repair/etc.

Why delete the rear wiper? I'm curious what benefit that gives I've never heard of anyone doing that before, unless it's for weight reduction which makes sense for certain builds

@@reputationpen1817 weight reduction can be a reason. But it is mainly done for looks. A smooth/flush look is preferred by many show cars. It is also fairly inexpensive, with the most expensive ones I've seen coming in at maybe 25bucks made out of glass and include the silicone too. On a side note, i didnt rank those mods in any specific order, i just wanted to mention mods that are mostly below 100bucks.

Lowering springs or coilovers can also help with mpg. If you don’t drive like a race boi you could see 2mpg increase.

If you have a dual clutch transmission aftermarket shift paddles can be so awesome. Some clip in and replace the stock ones, others are 3med to the factory ones. I got some clip in ones for my GTI and they feel amazing and add such an aggressive look to the interior

I did that with my 2005 sts. I put euro spec tail lights on, V hood, black sequential side markers, bbs rs wheels, swapped all the wood for aluminum trim also aluminum steering wheel trim off 1st gen cts v, soft top installed at dealer and platinum grill also swapped wood shifter for leather and chrome. The parts are worth more then the car is!

My list: Flushing your brake fluid and swapping in DOT4 if you don't already have it Decent brake pads like EBCs Intake (If you don't need to drop $250 because of a stupid MAF) Brighter brights PHONE MOUNT Also can't forget stickers.

One tip from someone who has fitted lots of those lips, skirts, diffusers whatever ya wanna call em. Get the ABS plastic versions. It's usually listed in the material on most websites. I bought fibreglass and for low mounted areas of your car it's more susceptible to stone chips, cracks and way worse wear and tear than the equivalent ABS plastic part.

My $19.95 grinder can lower my car too, our left over cardboard from Christmas & some foam in a can can make a body kit, I can use a crushed Natty Lite can with some zip ties over my stock shifter, duct tape over the side lights are quick & done, the gutter down pipe that fell of my trailer with my the neigbors fish net stalking wrapped around em would make a great intake! Now wheels, getting them Artisa ArtFormed Nights!!

It seems funny that Jels mentioned gear shifter extension set up, a short shift means less time on the clutch, faster shifting, my short shift reduces 40% throw and was a solid upgrade for not much cash!

Alright, I have a question for some suggestions: I have been considering doing some minor cosmetic mods for the lights on my Series 2 RX-8. I would like to darken or tint the turn signals and minor lighting, but I don't know how. Do I just tint wrap the plastic? Buy new parts? Can someone point me towards some DIY suggestions or parts?

As for minor lighting, something you can do which my friend did to his old car which transformed it is LED conversion for your interior lights. It really does lift the cabin, makes it look a tad bit more modern and gives you a lot more light

Probably suspension and or the cai+tune Washing and detailing the car goes a long way as well. Ceramic coatings like shine armor or Maguires make the car really pop
