TJ belly is rarely an issue due to how short the wheel base is. 3" suspension and 1" body is money on a TJ. I glide over stuff 4 doors get turtled on. I do have a SYE of course.

You definitely want to look/invest in an SYE, that driveline looks like it was ready to pop out of the Xfer case. You dont need to go crazy buying a new driveline off the bat. Just find a local junkyard and pull an XJ front driveshaft and have it cut down. Then when you have the coin for a new one, you will have a good spare.

I'd have gone a similar route if I didn't piece together a long arm kit for che@p. Don't trust that stock shaft on 37's if you wheel hard

I run 33's on my TJ with stock suspension (except 0.750" hockey pucks) and no issues. I like the looks of stock stance and full wheel wells.

what is the overall consensus on lifting a TJ? is it better to do a 2" spring lift + 1" body...or just go for a 3" spring lift? I'm assuming the 2" spring lift is easier on the geometry, and the 1" body would allow more room for a tummy tuck. mainly just wondering if springs + body is better/worse than springs only? I'm mainly concerned with respect to keep it essentially a Low Center of Gravity build.
@ElevatedJeeps
@ElevatedJeeps Ай бұрын
I’m of the opinion 2” coils + 1” BL. Yes, precisely, better for geometry! In most cases you can get away with stock control arms and no SYE. You can of course go wild, but it’s budget friendly. Easy to fine tune, and rides great!

@@1923ford Hi Kevin, thanks for your comment! So that particular belly skid is a Teraflex belly up. I believe it is designed to work with their long arm kit but also works without. It was a really nice skid, no issues with it at all. I ran the factory trans mount, and with a body lift i didn’t have any clearance issues. Sadly I already had the body lift on, so I’m unsure if that setup would work without the BL. Hope that helps!

Would you recommend the 1” body lift be installed with the tummy tuck?
@ElevatedJeeps
@ElevatedJeeps Ай бұрын
@@1923fordIf you have a Rubicon, I would say yes go right to the BL. If not, personally I’d try it without the BL first and see if you need it. The 231 is quite a bit smaller than the 241.

How do people like the Rock Krawler Springs compared to others?
@ElevatedJeeps
@ElevatedJeeps Ай бұрын
There isn't "that" many folks that make the 2", the most you hear is about RK and OME. In the 3-4" range you hear either RK or Metal Cloak, as they are both progressive rate coil. Obviously there are others, but I feel like the progressive rate springs are the future. I've been a RK customer for something like 17 years and they've never let me down. Take that for what it's worth though.

@@ElevatedJeeps Do the RK progressive springs ride about the same as stock? Stiffer? Softer? Thank you.
@ElevatedJeeps
@ElevatedJeeps Ай бұрын
@@1923ford I think some depends on the shock, but “generally” I run monotubes and thus I’d say it rides just as well. The progressive springs are great. Mine rides better than several of my buddies on 4” kits. My white LJ has leftover Rough Country shocks and I would still put it against a stock LJ.

currently im on 31.5's No lift and it wheels alright....With that said i do plan on doing a Savvy tummy tuck 1.25" Body lift 1" MML And after all that i may keep my stock suspension run a spacer upfront since my Front got sagged a bit after my winch&plate ! Just speculation i feel like for my daily id like to keep it 3 inches total lift but theres seems to be more options for longer travel shocks with a 3" Coil lift ! .......Im kinda hesistant but i feel like the 3" Coil & 1.25" Body lift will do me good on the street with some stiffer sway bars Like an ORO Front dual rate bar for example and a Hellwig rear ? but also on the trails it could be a badass little rock crawler ! I still got ideas but ill figure something out and make em to life !

Hey Derek , good info there my friend. I run 3.5 springs and a 1'' body lift ( coming out this spring ) on my TJ with a SYE and Fox shocks . It has been a great combo for me , but I don't do any crazy off roading anymore . I am removing my body lift this spring to lower the center of gravity a little. I also run a Barnes flat belly skid and 1'' motor mount lift with Adams driveshafts. Take care sir and looking forward to you new build.

Rubicon Express monotubes which are made by Bilstein. I can grab the part numbers when we are back from spring break. My rear doesn’t flex that well, I am thinking the rears might be a tad short.
