Mr Whitt, do you have a video to exlpain the number sets? ie natural,whole,rational,irrational,and irrational. and why is -8 rational? i thought rational numbers were fractions and decimals. and how do you classify the negative square root of 23?
@FortBendTutoring7 жыл бұрын
+m sullivan Not at this time M. -8 is rational because it can be rewritten as the ratio or quotient of two integers, namely -8 and 1 or 8 and -1. Negative square root of 23 is an irrational number as it can not be rewritten as the ratio or quotient of two integers.

One question mr Whitt, on question 7a at the end could one multiply with the 4th root of y instead of y^(3/4)? I did it cause it would eliminate the 4th root of y and got ((8x^(3/2)* 4th root of y)/y) is that the right answer?
@FortBendTutoring8 жыл бұрын
+Armin Ajdarpasic No, it would not eliminate the rational exponent in the denominator. You would have y^(1/2) in the denominator.

27:04 Guess what! I am also very addicted to math! I would also say "an an exponent"! 27:56 You know right? Not always will we find the value of a base raised to an exponent, especially when the integer exponents are bigger than ±10. 2 to the 3rd power, lucky because it is 3 as the exponent which is pretty small and 2 as the base; and the powers of 2 don't grow big so quickly, even if it is 2 ^ 30, it will seem to still be a 10 digit number. I don't think anyone would want to find the value of something like "9^70"; that is where it is best to leave it as it is. 29:20 , and also, 1 / 64 is equal to 0.015625
@yassingurhan62048 жыл бұрын
i pretty much understood everything except for two things in problem 11. I multiplied 3 by the bracket two but found out i was supposed to get rid of three itself, why is that? and the answer i keep getting for that question is 5.49 even though my logs are lined up the exact same way as yours. could it be my calculator settings? it was working up until that moment
@FortBendTutoring8 жыл бұрын
