Gen 8's move animations were so weirdly inconsistent. Double Kick: The user's model hops up slightly and a foot appears on the foe Tail Whip: The user's model turns around and waggles a bit No Reteat: The user suddenly appears on a mountain's edge flanked with torches while a typhoon rages behind them and shouts to the wargods for victory!
@MacZephyrZ
@MacZephyrZ Жыл бұрын
That's a logistics issues, really. If you want to give a custom animation to a single move used by a only a single pokemon, you can afford to put extra effort into the animation. But to make a custom tail-wagging animation for ever single pokemon that learns tail whip would be a lot of work that's probably spent better on something else, so it makes sense that they'd use shortcuts there. Especially when the game has hundreds of pokemon and moves. (Compare to Legends Arceus, which heavily cut the number of moves and has awesome animations). Still doesn't justify all of Sword and Shield's issues, don't get me wrong, but a lot of critism of their animations didn't take development logistics into account.
@aaronwishard7093
@aaronwishard7093 Жыл бұрын
@@MacZephyrZ Oh but it does, because they cited taking away development time from porting all the Pokemon into Gen 8, as giving them more resources to update their models and animations..... To quote flygonHG (a nuzlocke youtuber), "97.5% is not 100%" But its also rediculous that tackle can miss by default with its 95% accuracy. Some other whack ones from Gen 6: Trevenant’s Forest Curse - adds grass typing to the target Gorgeist’s Trick-or-Treat - adds ghost typing to the target It does not CHANGE them to the type. It ADDS the type. A pokemon that’s already dual type will have THREE TYPES. Is this useful? No. Is it funny to turn Heracross into a Bug/Fighting/Grass type giving it an 8x weakness to flying, effectively making a Gust from Pidgey equivalent to a nuclear missile strike? It’s hysterical.
@johnax4124

A level 60 Trevenant with an Adamant Nature and max attack EVs can (min-max) OHKO a level 100 Heracross with no defense EVs and a neutral nature with Aerial Ace after using Forest's Curse. A level 15 Heatran with max defense EVs and a + defense nature can (min max) survive a Horn Leech from a level 100 Trevenant with a neutral nature and no attack EVs after using Forest's Curse. Obviously the requirement of specific investments and such somewhat neuters this but even with the exact opposite investment a Heatran can survive at level 25, and a Trevenant at... 93 can kill, maybe would be better example with better stats mon but still. TL;DR:Triple types would be broken

This means any mon after a few moves can be Water/Grass, Water/Ghost, Psychic/Grass or Psychic/Ghost.

13:45 Electrify is a fun move in doubles, cause if you have 2 electric pokémon on your field, probably the enemy wants to do the earthquake + flying friend inmune to earthquake. If you turn the enemy earthquake into an electric earthquake, he probably kill their mate and you survive, plus if you have volt absorb abilty, the earthquake heals you. This also effect if you have the cell batery item, to get the +1 boost for free. And... i think the best use is vs dynamax pokémon. If you are faster, he always do MAX Lighting, so he creates a beautifull electric terrain for you, while do less damage (no stab + resistances) Electrify is a very versatile and FUN move. See ya!

Yeah, Legends Arceus pretty much gave some great signature moves in general. There’s the very broken ones like Victory Dance and Lunar Blessing, like you mentioned, but then you have moves like Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra’s Shelter, which raises both defensive stats in addition to raising evasion. This not only makes your opponent’s moves more likely to miss, but the ones that do connect deal less damage. Plus you have moves like Infernal Parade (Hisuian Typhlosion), Barb Barrage (Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil), and Bitter Malice (Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark) that basically act as slightly weaker versions of moves such as Hex and Venoshock that deal double the damage if the target has a status condition, but compensate for that by having a built-in 30% chance of inflicting a status condition (Burn for Infernal Parade, Poison for Barb Barrage, and Frostbite for Bitter Malice).

@@corronnicolla IMO dragon ascent is really only great for mega evolving Rayquaza. As a move it's pretty medicore in spite of it's high base power because Rayquaza is primarily a special attacker 99% of the time (Draco Meteor and Dragon Pulse are both special movies) and Dragon Ascent is a physical attack. There are almost no good physical dragon type mores and CERTAINLY not enough good physical flying type movies. Minus signatures you have, like, dragon claw, air slash, and aerial ice? Two of those moves I'm pretty sure Rayquaza can't use? And making Rayquaza physical also makes him lose Draco Meteor, one of the strongest attacks in the game and Rayaquaza's big damage dealer.

@@krimsonkatt Oh, I totally agree. As a move it's mediocre at best, it's the ability to Mega Evolve Rayquaza that makes it worth noting, imo, as no other signature move has that ability. Behemoth Blade is way stronger than Dragon Ascent, I just thought it was worth a mention due to it's ability to Mega Evolve Rayquaza, which was so broken that it caused Mega Rayquaza to be moved to AG.

And theoretically your ally could have a crazy high basepower normal type move (maybe return or superpower) and have crazy good stats (like slaking or ursaring) and you would prefer the type be electric to hit either a ghost or be super effective for either 2x or 4x damage. (Raindance + thunder is probably better and way less situational) It could probably be better if it changed the move types for 5turns or used either sleep or freeze's rules. Couple things: Hitmonlee has the OG Rolling Kick, not Hitmontop. Still kind of bad, but I believe it has a good flinch chance which was nice. Hariyama's Smellingsalt wasn't meant for damage, as shown by lack of STAB and low base power. Instead it was meant to remove Paralysis from something that either benefited from it (Guts, later Quick Feet) or that you wanted another status on (Sleep on a legendary, poison on ally Zangoose). It's a circumstantial move yes, but it gave the sandbag a niche that was only partially replaced by Heal Bell or Aromatherapy. I think Crush Grip exists just to make Regigigas not 100% useless at the start, but something to make him burn a turn counter would have been 100x better. Even a Belly Drum-like move that burns health to get him going right here and now with a stat boost would make the lug viable. You're telling me Hetterene has Psychic type Soak? I don't think you understand just what shenanigans that move can cause. Soak was only bad because it was exclusive to bad water types for years. As an example, using it on Shedinja reduces him to three weaknesses, one of which is a garbage type, another is hard countered by Fairy, and the third can be managed by Dark or Ghost mons. It's mostly a doubles move, but it can also help you counter a mon that your team would otherwise struggle against by preparing weaknesses in advance.

Here are some of the best Signature moves of the ones you didn't mention: -Thousand arrows Arguably the strongest attacking move in the game. For only 10 less bp than Earthquake you get a move that removes the only thing that keeps ground types offensively in check which is their flying immunity. -Spectral theif It's a strong physical ghost move that takes 1 turn and is 100% accurate which would already make it a really good move. But then you also get the massive benefit of stealing all of your opponents stat boosts which makes the move really broken. -Steam eruption What if we took hydro pump, made it 15% more accurate, and gave it a 30% burn chance just like scald which is one of the most broken moves of all time? -Dragon ascent Close combat is a really good move. This is flying type close combat. This is a really good move. -Astral barrage/Glacial Lance Both are 100% accurate 120/130 base power spread moves that are both great offensive types. These moves literally have almost no drawbacks for how powerful they are. -Wicked blow A physical 80 base power move that always crits, and it's dark type which is one of the best offensive types. The move is broken.

You look like a cross between Ralph the Movie Maker and Tom Holland. Anyway, your top tens are fun! I don't normally watch this style video, but since I'm a casual player that's been out of the game for a couple gens, there's just a lot I don't know! These are comfy to watch and I feel like I'm kinda catching up on where the games are (while being reminded of the old). Also, your voice is energetic and you project it well without dipping or raising in volume, meaning I can feel like my ears won't be destroyed if I start my headphones and do some chores. Just really relaxing stuff for me, 10/10

Oblivion Wing Draining moves like Absorb, Mega Drain, Giga Drain, Horn Leech, Drain Punch, and Leech Life restore to the user 50% of the damage they dealt. Their Base Power ranges from 20 and 40 for Absorb and Mega Drain, to 75 for Giga Drain, Drain Punch, and Horn Leech, while finally Leech Life has 80 BP The Draining move Draining Kiss is 50 BP; however, it restores 75% of the damage dealt Oblivion Wing has 80 BP and restores 75% of the damage it dealt

in case no one has pointed it out yet, your description on photon geyser is wrong, it's physical or special based on whichever of necrozma's offensive stats are higher, not on the opponent's defensive stats is lower. Im assuming you mixed its effect with galar slowbro's shell side arm.

Boltund also has access to Electrify, and it's a pretty good move, actually. It can target the enemy to derail dynamax strategies, completely screw up their attempts at supereffective moves, and it lets you surprise the opponent with an electric attack, with an added bonus of it being physical OR special depending on what you use.

Electrify doesn’t change a normal move, it makes any move on that turn used by the targeted Pokémon electric which can be hilarious if you’re running a partner ground type or even for Heliolisk to live a resisted move, it’s also funny turning an opponent’s EQ into an electric move so their flying teammate gets hit super effectively

My definition of a Signature Move is a move that can only be learnt by one line of Pokémon naturally, excluding TM's. This means that just because Darkrai can learn Spacial Rend and Roar of Time, it doesn't mean they aren't the Signature Moves of Palkia and Dialga.

I feel inclined to point out that in Legends Arceus, Dark Void got it's accuracy buffed to about 90%. Part of me hopes that it stays like that when/if it's released to gen 9, but a 90% accurate sleep move might be a problem. Oh wait, spore exists, but then again Darkrai is probably a far better pokemon than Amoongus or Breloom. I do hope that going forward, it's accuracy is at least on par with sleep powder.

I can see what they were going for with with Electrify, the idea was that it would be used offensively, it would be able to turn a super effective move against Heliolisk into a not very effective move by making it Electric-Type, kind of like Gourgeist's Trick or Treat turning the target into the Ghost-Type so that it can get super effective hits on them. The only thing they did wrong with Electrify was that they made it only last one turn, this single-handedly ruins this move.

Similar but far better than Hatterene's signature move is Gourgeist's Trick-or-treat. I only recently used one in an X playthrough and man what a game changer that move was. But obviously the ghost type gives you a lot more to work with there than psychic does, since ghost is weak to ghost

Is "First Impression" limited to Golisopod? 'Cuz I think it does good physical damage and when used it will always go first! And pair it with Golisopod's "Emergency Exit" ability or the move "U-Turn", It can create a decent damage chain! I think it's one of the best bug-type moves along side "X-scissor", Megahorn" and "Bug Buzz" in my opinion!

14:11 You can actually use Helioisk's Electrify to change an opponent's attack to be Electric, so if you are paired with a Pokemon that is resistant/immune to Electric but weak to the other Pokemon's moves, you can use Electrify on the dangerous Pokemon to stop it from decimating Helioisk's teammate Pair this with a Pokemon with Lightning Rod, and you can essentially shut down any and all attackers not aiming for Helioisk (and even if they aim for it, there's likely a way to protect Helioisk as well)
