Like me going into a dollar general and finding out nothing was a dollar... we had 2 dollar stores... then one day I went and was told everything was a $1.39 but for 3 weeks they kept the sandwich board out on the 4 way calling it the dollar store... they walked that sign out every day so they knew they were deceptive... So I went in told them they needed to remove their sign or change the price... Or I would hold them to the signs $1. price... then they decided to up their prices again.. starting at $1.39 and up to $5.99... it pissed me off what I bought for a buck was now $3.99 i walked out empty handed... they sold cheap trash birthday prize gifts and lot and lot of off brand plastic... havent been back in a few years...

I've been using extension cords from Dollar General, Family Dollar and even the Dollar Tree for 15 or more years Never had a problem with them. they work just as well if not better than the ones from Walmart, Kmart etc. Same with Sun Screen most are name brand just like you'd get at a Pharmacy just lower priced

I don't mind watching the last 20 minutes of Rachael's show, she's a wonderful cook. But I so dislike it when she talks over her guests. She had The Property Brothers on not long ago, even with them she had to add her two cents. She should know after being on the air with this show for 12 years, when to to shut up, and when it's time to speak. I'm surprised her staff hasn't drawn it to her attention. Or even her Instagram, Twitter on Face book accounts.

As long as it's a decent brand . some of the ones they sell have little to no stickyness to them! 2 Christmases ago I bought the packaging tape on the red slider/cutter thingy ( I don't know what it is called) but it was packaging tape that was decorated towards Christmas - the one I got was Green with white polka dots and one was red and green striped, they don't stick to anything very good not even to their self and i've gotten a few packs of the clear that was useless same with some of the duct tape - it is just hit and miss

I buy many things at dollar stores like soaps, dental care products, under arm deodorant, dandruff shampoo which actually works, and many food items like a dozen fresh eggs which only cost a dollar. Sometimes dollar stores are not always the cheapest, that’s when I transfer my business to places like Walmart, Save A Lot, Aldi, etc. Dollar stores that you really have to be careful of are small business type stores which only have one or two locations that buy surplus/leftover stock from other stores that couldn’t sell the items.

Stores, like Publix, that have many BOGO items weekly, can be a better buy then the Dollar store. Additionally, you are getting name brand products. Also, you can add coupons bringing down the cost even more. For example: I purchased Miracle Whip on BOGO for $2.50 (usually $4.99) and used a dollar coupon making a 30oz. MW $1.50.

I have not had good luck with the packing tape at dollar stores. I buy at least 75 to 85% of what we have at dollar stores. Especially produce and condiments at the 99 cents store. I always keep extra toothbrushes for guests, along with other toiletries for guests too. Dollar Tree accepts coupons, and they have a wonderful website

I feel like this is wrong. I have super pale skin, and I always use $1 sunscreen from the dollar tree. Their $1 off brand toothpaste is also awesome and made by colgate. Their shampoo and conditioner isn't that great, but their hair detangler for kids is. Their sunglasses are cheap, but they're great if you're wearing them to the ocean where you may lose or break them. I also like buying air wick stick ups for my car there. The air fresheners last for about a month and are in a pack of 2 for $1.

InsertNameHere _ be careful. Air wick has toxic chemicals in them. Unregulated ...not required to list ingredients as no label laws. The toothpaste also may have triclosan which the FDA is currently banning. Triclosan was a registered pesticide in the 70’s. Anything scented contains synthetic chemical ingredients. Research your ingredients. These chemicals get absorbed through skin, inhalation, etc. Go eco. It’s worth your health. Freshen a room with a lemon... or a candle made from beeswax. The smell is pure, they smell like honey and are safe in your indoor environment.

I'll buy a lot of generic brands but some quality named products are worth it like sour cream. No brand name ones are runny. Also generic coffee creamer powder taste weird. For me "coffee mate" taste good powder ( I know most people use liquid coffee mate.) Also bread, cleaners, laundry detergent, toilet paper - hate hate hate "scott's brand. +Miss Amanda's world - because there are some people who think anything from the Dollar Tree is crap, even though it's really not. The plates and glass ware have to be food grade safe, and the Name brand things are fine. The only thing I would stay away from is the spoons, I've heard those can melt. But other than that, they're fine! I love the little glass bowls they have there. You get 4 in a set, and they're great!
