Do you guys have a video coming out with Fabio Gurgel? I love his style and explanation.

I agree, that is one instruction video I will definitely buy.

Barrett Roberts Bernardo said at the end of the video that they just shot an instructional with Fabio. I’ve been fortunate enough to be in a class taught by him and it was great! Fabio has a way of breaking things down into very simple concepts to digest.

Brian J excellent I can’t wait! I actually bought an instructional he made about Pressure Passing and it was fantastic. I’m old and slow so it was perfect for me lol
@brianj57705 жыл бұрын
Barrett Roberts pressure passing is great! I learned it from one of Fabio’s black belts. I’m average size and naturally pretty fast but decided to slow my game down before age does it for me LOL. In my late 30’s so I can still move fast with younger guys but prefer not to after learning to smash lol. I realize pressure passing was legit when I rolled with a higher belt that is about 30lbs lighter but I still could not stop it.

Question from a newbie for more experienced practitioners: isn't the guy on bottom just going to slide under just with downward (reverse) shrimping?
@92pullman505 жыл бұрын
Not really going to be able to shrimp properly with his far arm basically pinned to the mat. Won't be able to turn into his opponent. He'd probably just get mounted. Plus top opponent will just move north and follow him .
@theanswerissimple5 жыл бұрын
Anything is possible but both sides have to adapt to the next move or lose/gain position. The bottom guy can do that but if the top guy has strong control and applies pressure maybe the bottom guy won't be able to do it. You know what I'm sayinggggg
@brianj57705 жыл бұрын
Kodreanu23 that’s not impossible but will be very difficult while having his face smashed from the bottom. Even if the guy on bottom is able to do this, the escape attempt likely be slowed down enough for the guy on top to react and change his attack.

I'm a fat dude, gonna try this but hopefully not squish my partners head too much! Also that side control escape is pretty nifty, I was taught to use the hand against the shoulder but I'll try the hand against the chest now to create more space.

Question, what is the opponent trying to achieve by swinging his legs left and right?
@LebronInCleats3 жыл бұрын
Generate momentum from through the hips to slip out the back door, escape, make space, etc.

If you hip escape and raise your left arm up to grab your right arm, there is no arm bar. The guy on the bottom has a free left arm to do whatever.
