Rogue is gay. It’s the most difficult class to play well and if you aren’t playing well you’re not gonna have a good time. I don’t mean play OK, for rogue you really need to be good. It sucks because it’s my favorite class fantasy but I have never been able to stick to it because I just get killed and do no damage no matter what I try to do.

@@ZorpoTV I'll give it a shot. I still play on my rogue from time to time but I lose like 3/4 of my solo shuffles and it's always my fault. I'm not a good player overall, I don't really have any interesting in pushing for a high rating - I don't care. I don't have enough situational awareness to be good in arena and I don't care enough to get good at it. I just wanna relax and play. On warrior/DK or other classes where I can just zug-zug on one target I have about 50/50 win/loss ratio at around 1600-1700. That's fine by me. I've watched many rogue guides and I just can't do it. I never know when to cc and when I try I end up doing no damage cuz I'm just constantly staring at the healer.

I feel like rogue is definitely the hardest class to play. It is insane how fragile rogues are. Even as a rogue myself, I love fighting rogues, because they are a free honor kill, if I have first strike

Rogues are actually one of the harder classes to kill with vanish, evasion, and cloak of shadows. Most of the time in 3v3 vs rogue teams you should mostly just ignore the rogue and focus on killing the other dps like mage or hunter. Not always though. But spending time trying to kill the rogue when they just vanish or shadowstep away and get a full reset most of the time can lead to your team burning out, running out of trinkets and getting killed by the rogue. By putting pressure on their team, you force the rogue into more defensive play. If you find yourself dying a lot as rogue, you may need to use defensive cooldowns sooner, or learn to pull back out of the fight more and position yourself to avoid ranged damage. And don't forget to use feint! The only time rogue is really the best target is if you're playing 2v2 against a rogue/healer team, then kill the rogue. Otherwise it's usually best to focus the other dps.

It's just so much about gear. Those 2 pvp trinkets against stuns are essential. Two retri pallys using hammer of justice, critting me 1.6 million with instant casts. Good luck trying to avoid that if you don't have the trinkets. Guess I have to farm honor for hours before being able to compete in arena.

@Kiboxxx yes you will need honor gear at the very least to compete in pvp, not only because of the bonuses to the trinkets, but the fact that all pvp gear scales up in item level compared to normal gear in arena and battlegrounds, making it essential.

crimson tempest is still good against one enemy. it is good in 2v2 and 3v3. the more different type of bleeds you have, the more agility and other bonuses you get from talents and tier set.

Yea I don't think it is, considering it takes a whole global and we have so many other abilities to manage that do just as much damage, its just not worth taking imo. Even one hit from shiv does more burst than kingsbane, and cranking up big envenoms during thistle tea makes it important not to waste any globals. Only thing that would be relatively worth sacrificing is bone spike, but bone spike does more overall damage and doesn't require any extra globals to press. That being said, if you want to experiment with Kingsbane maybe you will find success! As I mentioned in the video, most of the assassination talents are pretty good, none terrible, but I think I have a pretty good setup here. That's just my logic on not using it.

Love the video not watched it all yet though. I find that most rogue guides don't go over when to pool energy as an assass rogue. It's like that “secret sauce” that no one discusses in detail.

You should try to keep your energy above 30 minimum until you have all your bleeds and a shiv up. This is in the video.

@fullmetalscotsman1306 you shouldn't really be running out of energy that often, but if you do you don't need to press abilities on every single global. Having bleeds up is the most important thing. Auto attacks are definitely important too! Basically, when you open up and dish out all your cc and press your cooldowns it's okay to spend a lot of energy because thats when you need it most, but once your damage slows down a bit and your enemies are on DR for cc and your abilities are recharging, you don't really need to be pumping damage on every global, just want to make sure you got bleeds up on everyone possible. If you don't have thistle tea, just make sure you have enough energy to use cc like gouge or kidney shot, or defensive like feint, because that will be more important than pressing mutilate. Once you have shiv and thistle tea back off cooldown, energy won't really be a concern because thistle tea grants energy

Very nice video and build! I‘m unsure because of the supercharger talent - if i put the points in the talents that gives me 1 combo point more i can constantly have finishers with 7 points rather than have a short window of 8 points every time i shiv with supercharger. What do you think?

Supercharger better. It gives you 2 finishers with extra points, not just one. Way better. I tested both and had the same thoughts at first.

no, not really. but if you're playing night elf you should have the shadowmeld stealth macro I showed. also good to have a macro to sap nearby stealth enemies, and I like to use macro to blind arena targets 1 2 3, and also just for switch target to arena 1 2 3.

The healing reduction from shiv is far superior to wound poison. The only reason you would take this off is if you play with a warrior using mortal strike

@@Dimitris_Rigas no. you still get a lot of value when shiv is on cooldown. All my talents are specced into bleed also, not poison damage. Deadly poison is the weakest dot. Just run Wound/crippling. Shiv isn't constantly up. I like your way of thinking though! Gotta stay min-maxxing. Wound is bis!

Lots of people running it, myself included. I have the 4 piece set and then the crafted algari helmet and bracers. all the top assassination rogues are using 4 piece set. sorry i didn't mention the set in the video! The bonus to bleed and poison damage is great, that's just what assassination needs.

i have a lot of trouble with getting value out of deathmark. pally can bop it off, sac it off now, and evokers can cauterize wound. over 50% of the time it feels like im getting hard countered

Deathmark honestly isn't super important you can still do crazy damage without it. I like to try to use it early and sometimes will get it back to use a 2nd time. It's 100% okay and normal if you don't kill with it! That being said, it is very strong and can definitely get wins if you use it well. Keep practicing! It's not a waste if you get them to press their cooldowns to counter it. One thing that really does hard counter assassination though is double ranged dps comps with a lot of cc, they'll just kite you forever with slows, roots, knockback etc which can be really difficult to play against. It's definitely not a perfect spec, nor is it the best spec in the game right now. It's outperformed by ferals and couple other specs that are just more well rounded.
