Katerina, I really love your channel 🥺 it just feels so cozy and like a safe space and it’s always a pleasure to watch. Really appreciate all the effort that goes into your videos ❤ I’ve read all the lovers in the night after your recommendation and i absolutely loved it, I’m currently reading I Who Have Never Known Men can’t wait to see how it goes 😊

I recently read I who have never known men and I still think about it every day. It took me some time to get into it, but then i was obsessed. I also cried 4 times i think and I told everyone I know about it. I just want to talk about this book because it was so incredibly sad and calm at the same time and aaaaaaaaaaa. Glad you liked it as well😌

I’m so happy you mentioned Less than zero! I never see it mention anywhere but I loved it. I read it a long time ago and I’m due for a reread 😊

it's definitely an underrated read !! probably less talked about as it's has some heavy content, esp near the end, but i thought it was a really eye-opening book!

Sounds like you had a great Q2 of reading! Loved the way you described I Who Have Never Known Men- have heard loads of love for this book, so may finally need to give it a go! Worried it may make me cry 😅

read All the Lovers In The Night a month ago and it was so good, instantly a new favorite. got into a huge reading slump after that cause nothing was filling the void.

going in reading slumps after finishing a brilliant book is def the worst !

I wanted so much to enjoy All the Lovers... but somehow I found it blend (up until 1/3). Haven't finished but might give it another go

aw that's such a shame to hear - i think the beginning is purposefully a bit dry so you understand her character, but I would def say the book is worth finishing!

@katerinareem I'm halfway through to Heaven and I'm enjoying it. Will give it another shot to the lovers. I reckon her writing style is very quiet at first and intense after. Have you read Heaven? If yes, how would you compare them? Cheers

@@carl_oak i read heaven earlier this year !! loved it tbf, but i think i did prefer all the lovers in the night a TINY bit more

I love the way you talk about books, I’ve noted down half of the ones you mentioned! My favourite book so far this year has been girl interrupted. I read it back in January and it was perfect as the book is set in the winter. To anyone who sees this I recommend the book just as much as the film!
@katerinareem10 күн бұрын
thank you so much! ooo I've only seen the film, I had no idea it was based on a book! I'm definitely going to try and find a copy to read this winter

@@katerinareem I hope you’ll enjoy it! it’s pretty short but it’s interesting, it’s actually a memoir about susanna kaysen’s experiences from her time at the psych hospital.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’m currently reading I who have never known men and All the lovers in the night is still on my TBR🤣 (which I’ll read it next bc thanks to your video) also my favorite book from Q2(and probably one of my favorite books in my life) is My brilliant friend by Elena Ferrante.

Jacqueline Harpman is Belgian, not French!
@katerinareem13 күн бұрын
whilst the author is indeed belgian, the novel itself was originally published in french under the name 'moi qui n'ai pas connu les hommes'

@@katerinareem yes, but that doesn't make it a 'French Dystopian'
