$20-$150 is a huge range. Chi-fi releases so many IEMs, especially in 2023. "Budget" can be defined so subjectively. What 1 person considers "budget," another will not. I consider under $50 as "budget" for IEMs. Definitely not over $100. In my opinion, EW200 easily wins "budget" IEM of 2023.

I agree. This category should be split into lower budget $20-50, mid budget $50-100 and upper budget $100-150.

I agree there's a lot of releases. I am very interested in IEMs, got 6 of them already plus some open back headphones (Hifiman Edition XS, Beyerdynamic DT1990, Sehh HD560S...), but I've totally skipped ask the hype with Chopin IEMs for example. I think being a part of community and appreciating all the videos doesn't mean we have to follow and try every release. When you said we should pick our best, favorite IEMs and even the comfort counts, that's what we did :)) Bots and users who just want to win will always be there. Not even photo id or phone number verification will help you get rid of that. You would have to count votes only from people who are active (wrote lots of comments and your verified their replies.) Or restrict voting to like Patreon $0.50 membership just to verify users.

Yeah, and there are a number of good sets in there. The EA500 I've got and it's incredible, but If the S12 is anything close to my Timless as people say this is not a competition.

I live in Malaysia where the current exchange rate is 1 to 4 ($1 USD = $4+ MYR, depending on exchange rate) So $50 USD is over $200 MYR. That's a lot of money for me. So, yes, the "Budget" rating is definitely subjective.

I bought the simgot ew200 due to your review. I'm honestly very happy at that decision. It's a very good set at that price . I even consider the Truthear zero red , but I ain't messing with that nozzle 😅. Simgot had a very good track history this year. The market is becoming more and more competing regardless of the price. That's a good thing for the community i guess. It's good to see your kid in every video. It brought a smile to every one's face.❤️❤️

Hey, Chris, ever since I discovered you, I've been fascinated with your authenticity and adorable bluntness :) I normally feel inspired to contribute some value but my actual competence in this field is pretty low level so I don't want to waste anyone's time with what I perceive as "empty" coments. It's only because you seem to actually *want* more engagement that I allow myself to chime in from time to time, even as a noob. Reg. the unexpected absence of some sets from the votes, it could be as simple as people having a really, really short attention span these days - so if the release was earlier during the year, newer sets have already pushed it out of their mind.

This is a great way to see what the community enjoys, beyond the reviewers. I will now need to invest further and try out the EM6L. I describe my preference as thirsting impactful sound. the Z12 and S12 Pro really do that for me. Really appreciate your work and doing this series of videos.

I saw a comment saying 20-150 bucks is a huge range, and I have to agree to that. The IEM space has something to offer at just about all price points. Going from 20 to 30 bucks even presents several more decent options. Seeing EM6L up top isnt out of the ordinary in all honesty. Very good IEM for the money and probably under 150 bucks too alongside the Nova. EW200 should've had a spot somewhere up top too, though I reckon if there was a 20-50 dollar tier list, it'd have received majority votes by a land slide

I was thinking of buying the SimGot EW200 based on your review but I read a comment comparing it on the same level as Kiwi Ears Cadenza (somewhat) which I already own, which again I bought based on your review. Now I'm wondering whether I should try the SimGot EM6L instead or should I go for the Kiwi Ears Quartet.. Right now rocking the Tanchjim One DSP on your recommendation, it's certainly is enjoyable, the bullet shape and light weight makes me forget it's there. Always enjoyed your videos especially when you go through your music collection and let us know how each iem fare; good or bad. It's more informative rather than a one song listen..

I voted for Simgot. I first bought the EM6L & loved it. Decided to try the EA500 and loved that too. Finally bought the EW200 which is also great. i can see why they won company of the year & how their different iems get so much love

The EM6L and the MP145 are on my wishlist. Have to wait for another sale. I picked up some cables, a dongle and the Fudu at Linsoul BFCM sale. Jupiters look impressive. Would be great to add those to my collection. Keep up the good work

I love the look of the Jupiter's (can't comment on the audio profile since I've never owned the set, or any from the manufacturer). The quality looks exceptional. However, this video is real benefit to me, since the voting is much more in line with my budget. Yet another audio/music forward review to update our expectations in 2023. I continue to love the little clips of your son also - just makes me smile so much!

I like simgot is dominant on this list. They are clearly putting a lot of effort in their r&d in improving their dynamic driver and pr technology. Congrats on the Jupiter. Man, you've put together several collabs and this recent one Jupiter looks very very interesting. I don't have the Chopin yet so I cannot comment on its tuning however maybe in the near future I may purchase it. Its been a great year for IEMs. Lots of innovation and change, lots of new manufacturers and lots of new tech. The Simgot EM6L has been my favourite in this price bracket and my vote this year. The Chopin would have got it but I only received it last week.

EM6L is just too good! I've commented it before and ill say it again, it just hits and competes above its price point. I use my IEMS for 1. music listening and 2. FPS gaming, and if you're someone that just want to have one that does both very well and priced at say something like a 'gaming' headset (minus the mic) from a well known gaming brand, then this is currently the the best thing out there. Good job again simgot, got 2 awards already!

I have both the ea500 and the 200. Liked the 200 best out of the box but after getting Simgots tuning kit and fooling around I have a winner. The EM6L had highs I wasn't sure I could listen to at length. Still prefer high SPL for helping overloading my chronic pain at times. The music and volume overloading help greatly for short bursts. Thanks for all you do!

I’ve got to say the Tanshin [sic] One is the best sounding IEM up to $150. I use them with foam ear tips, like I do all my EMIs, and they are fun and satisfying. A Merry Christmas to you and your family.

The quality we're getting in the under £150 is amazing with Planar, Dynamic, Duel Dynamic & Hybrid sets. For me the Simgot EA500 was probably my set of the year & for my ultra budget it's KZs Castor Bass edition, for the price it's really good.

There's a lot of sick IEMs in this price range. I got the Quartets, and I love the tuning, but the detail is really lacking. I'm not sure when the S12 Pro's came out, but I'm really considering them. Are the EM6L's better than the S12 Pro's?

I am happy to see 7Hz Legato and Blon Z300 on the list - those were my two purchases this year and am very happy with them. I keep going back to the Legatos for that deeeeep sound from my library and Tidal. RE the Chopin, I agree that it came out too late for the voting, and would not be surprised if it shows up on the 2024 lists instead. RE the voting, is there a way to have a radio button list (with bot defense?) with a list of 2024 releases to limit the votes? Maybe a way to add a comments section for honorable mentions? Tricky to make it user friendly, but secure. Maybe have a line of retirees check your credentials before voting like they do in the US?
