Enabling XMP or the ryzen version is technically a ram overclock.

XMP is inverse to Stability (You don't wanna compromise system's stability for few FPS) So bettet not to enable

its not , the actual overclock means u clock your ram more than what its capable -ex xmp works on what max processor can do in intel cpus max amount will be 6400mhz but when you comes to i5 most motherboards only supports up to 2666 / 2999 mhz so if u use a ram 3600 mhz and use xmp it wont do any thing cuz ur cpu xmp is only at 2999 mhz max, in case u use i9 then u must adjust your xmp to rams clock speed / if that xmp exceeds the clock speed over 3600 mhz that cause ram damage even though a 3600mhz can be oc to 3999 max it will run without much problem if it wont heat much but if that exceeds the volt on ram and also heat exceeds what it can control it will damage memory chips in the ram.

@@M4DLC it depends on generation and cpu variant generally most of intel cpu have limitations if it's 13th gen it's limited to 3200mhz on ddr4 and for r5 4000+

@@steushio the 13400f indeed says the ddr4 ram speed's up to 3200mhz, but the mobo i mention supports up to around 5600mhz ram speed, does that mean there's no point in getting ram faster than 3200 ? or there's a chance it might reach higher speeds with the xmp ?

Don't buy 3600. You can usually clock 3200 to 3600 and even if you lose the silicon lottery? You can probably clock the ram to 3400+ at which point you wouldn't notice a difference from 3600, except your wallet has more money in it.

I bought these sticks and they’ve worked great tbh, Only payed 65 at the time. Gonna buy another pair for 32gb they are only 50 at the moment

@@AlphaEvan I have some 3200 CL16 TF that XMP fine, 2X 16gb. I doubt you will be that lucky running 4 dimms. TF is the most budget ram, not necessarily the best buy.
