if you are having problems with the cactus not breaking, its probably because you have the fences misplaced. they have to be touching a side of a cactus. it is not your fault, the angle of the video can get you easily confused.

So if i make 20 layers it would result in 3.400 cactus per hour right? I mean if you are on the floor level the 20th floor would still produce cactus even tho you are not at it's high?

You gotta have the fence in between to so let’s say your placing the fences left to right you gotta do dirt fence dirt fence with no 3 block space and you just do that all along

Put the lava against the lateral blocks. If you put it on the slabs they will be watterlogged

If you want to build multiple layers, no. This is because the cacti from the upper layers drops down through the fences. Placing stone walls instead of wooden fences will block the cacti from passing through, resulting in the cactus despawning.

Very strange design, the hoppers he placed to collect the cacti are useless and aren't even placed where all the cacti ends up. I recomend changing the collection system or watching another tutorial.
