I bought one if Killer Carbs CVs for my last bike.....very good carb, but on my current bike I was short on cash so rebuilt and rejetted my own CV.....equally awesome.

Great video. The V Twin engines you like to keep the rpm’s around 1000 at idle to ensure proper oil flow to top of engine

I tried a Mikuni but it made such a loud clicking sound I couldn't stand it plus there was NO horsepower increase at all . The only upside was an immediate response but that too raised a problem. When approaching a high speed curve if you wack onto the throttle it is so responsive that it unsettles the bike and could very easily cause a death wobble. I am so impressed with my KILLER Carburetor because my Screaming Eagle 204 cams come on sooner and pulls like a freight train all the way to 6000 RPM . Believe me , its worth EVERY PENNY !

It really is a great carb for the money. Thanks for watching!

I put a Mikuni HSR42 on my 97 Buell S1 (Sportster-ish motor). You are the first person to mention the clicking sound. I'm assuming the clicking it made at idle. I heard it too. It was annoying but the vastly better throttle response was worth it to me. It sounded like the slide was getting sucked against the carb body....kinda.

Harleys just recentlty wandered into the performance world. Curves and performance is a novelty for them. 😂😂

As a CV guy, I'm glad for this info. You paid $370, is that with a core swap or a straight purchase?
@kalways_kustoms Жыл бұрын
That price was without the core, and included shipping. They will buy your core from you, which actually lowered the price substantially. Thanks for watching!

Don’t forget to check the voes it can cause a vacuum leak and cause that cough you said it has
@kalways_kustoms9 ай бұрын
Everything has been great since the new carb, but yes. The voes can be an issue. Had that happen on my last bike. Thanks for watching!

Maybe a bit late but check the condition of the battery terminals. Voltage is not the best indicator of battery condition, battery condition testers are now cheap as chips and save replacement of perfectly serviceable batteries. First thing every time is stick the nozzle of carb cleaner into both of the air jets on the front. You should get a strong spray from the primary and same up around the needle from the jet on the right. With engine vening into the inlet the air drawn into the jets is sticky and has no fuel at that point to keep them clean. The emulsion tube needs a good air supply but part throttle response is all down to the idle air jet on the left along with fuel mixture screw. Too much fuel and it'll be down on power, mostly because it can't get up to proper operating temperature. Too lean and things will definitely get way hot.

All good tips. I appreciate it, but I sold the bike....but, thanks for watching!

If you added a shim you actually enrich your needle more fuel. The lesser more lean or no shims. Question: how many washers all together on the need. Ty
@kalways_kustoms Жыл бұрын
2 shims total. Thanks for watching!
