I'm glad I'm not the only one to appreciate what the new Trax does for car buyers. I spent a few days with one and didn't hate my time in it. I tell everyone its the perfect vehicle for someone who doesn't want anything in particular aside from great mileage and a low price tag. It's decently comfortable and accommodating, and spacious enough for most daily usage. Props to Chevy for that one.

Make $30k the limit. A $50k Integra is silly. Higher, even if they are good, they are simply inaccessible novelty. As for EVs, most, until the prices drop, are uninteresting novelty. Trucks may have some COTY candidates, but the COVID era price increases drive most to the unoptainable atmosphere.

I worked for AAA for many years and there are two brands you stay well away from unless you like lemons. Just about every model Jeep makes has major issues which would me a visit back to the dealer. The other is all models Chrysler makes including their Ram division. Buy at your own risk.

Many years, the Accord had no business being included in 10 Best (I’m thinking of the mid-00s to mid-teens whale versions) but the editors seemed to look extra hard to find any excuse to include it, which really damaged the credibility of the list. Ezra was right this year in saying how Honda took away many of its most compelling features, yet here it is yet again. And with it, there goes more of the credibility of this exercise.

If its off of base price, then where's the Dark Horse or any of the Last calls from Dodge as their base trim is $35k-ish. Dark Horse was on sale before the E-Ray was

The new Accord and Civic are exactly what they're supposed to be, IMO, especially the Accord. Simple, straightforward, and everything you need in a daily. Not trying to look sporty, not trying to be cool, just gives you exactly what you need with a little bit of fun involved. This refresh is an absolute win IMO.

I think it’s important to point out that the Kia Ion 5 battery replacement cost is $60K. It is a real price point to. It was caused by debris from the road. I seriously don’t know why anyone would pick any electric vehicle in there Top 10 List when these vehicles are prone to fire’s & electrocution. I’m a huge fan of Car & Driver & Motor Trend for many years. I’m not sure why you would mention or discuss these issues. Maybe you have. Getting these on KZbin isn’t regular as it should be.

Enough with the Accord. At this point I wonder if it just so they can add another year to the list. The Hybrid falls short of the Camry, the design is uninspired, the seats (as they have been for years) are lacking support and are uncomfortable, the interior while having a decent design has a fair amount of cheap feeling, hard plastics, and the reliability has fallen from the top notch Honda reliability of years past. It may be a good mid-size sedan but they’re are far better cars out there.

I’ve worked in the car business for going on 20 years and there aren’t many people in the business that I’ve talked to over the years that would say an Accord is a better option then a Camry. I would consider a Legacy as well, especially if AWD is on your list. Probably best ride of all mid size sedans and roomy. I’d definitely stay away from Hyundai/Kia. They just aren’t there. Same with the Altima.

I heard from Consumers in the comment sections, other then the top trim, the car is cheapy overall. Honda needs to reconnect with its roots. Needs to get rid of the excessive road noise and get rid of CVTs and then improve their paint quality.

I bought a '23 Ram 1500 based on multiple positive reviews and one short test drive. Traded a flawless '08 Tundra owned from new. The Ram's only redeeming features were the side mirrors and console design. Its handling was horrible (wallowing pig comes to mind) and the "manual shifter" tiny button hidden on the steering wheel has to be the worst designed thing I've ever seen. And, even if you found the button, the transmission took about a minute to change gears. Mine was delivered with a defective 12" radio unit and it took almost 3 months to get a replacement. After 4 wasted months I traded it on a '24 Tundra which is better in every way (except the center console). Car and Driver drops a notch in my opinion after this one...

I test drove one and, compared to a 15 year old 100K mile Tundra, it seemed fine. So, I did get into one before buying it. And then got out of it as fast as I could. BTW, even though my brand new truck came with a defective radio, they waited months to replace it with a refurbished unit. I was actually waiting to get the radio repaired to get rid of the truck or it would have been gone sooner...@@HenryCalderonJr

Car and driver said back in the year 2000 that the Accord V6 was the best sedan that year. And i bought one. And it was the worst car i ever owned. I bought a 2001 EX-L V6 brand new and during ownership it has had 3 transmissions replaced, 2 of which during the 36,000 mile warrenty. The brakes were horrible and wooden feeling. I always felt that my brakes had such a hard time stopping that i had to start braking way ahead of time otherwise i would rear end someone. Not a confidence inspiring braking system. The brakes siezed up on me 5 times and it always happends during the winter time when there was snow on the ground. The transmission would slip even when brand new. The suspension was sloppy and handled like a dog. I was so glad i got rid of it. Every car i bought after that was way better than that piece of shitbox. Never bought another Honda again.

On the other hand, a whole lot further back when they first began the Top 10, they told me the VW Jetta was a good car (one I hadn't even considered when I went car shopping). So I test drove one and was immediately hooked. From that moment on there was never a time I'd drive the car and not end the trip with a smile on my face. I bought the GLI -- sedan version to GTI -- and driving it was so much fun. In fact, that was back in the day when fuel was under a dollar, and people would still go out for Sunday drives. Sometimes I'd drive over a hundred miles just because it was so much darn fun. From Old Topanga canyon road on the west coast, to the Florida Keys Highway on the east coast. Full disclosure: the fuel pump fail 6 months in, and was replaced under warranty. If they ever import an R SUV (performance R), I'll buy it.

I am super disappointed that you guys continue to tout Honda. Their 1.5 motor is a total piece of crap, especially for those in the northern tier states. Have you guys heard about their oil dilution problem that has plagued these motors? You guys are just encouraging Honda to continue to put out these seriously flawed vehicles with all your undeserved praise. Please stop doing this until they deserve that kind of praise. In addition it is categorically untrue that their reliability is equal to or better than Toyota's (or for that matter many other manufacturers). Please stop with this misinformation. It doesn't suit you guys well. I personally continue to ask people not to buy Honda products with the 1.5 motor. I have had 2 of them. Worst cars I have EVER owned. Honda has lost me as a client likely forever and the car buying public does not deserve these seriously flawed motors. I am amazed you guys can overlook these facts :(

The North doesn't matter to these guys, nor does it matter to most manufacturers apparently... maybe Volvo has a -20 C use case for their car designs, but their reliability sucks so I don't consider them. Still driving a port injected 3.7 with AWD up in Ontario, Canada here... turns 11 years old next month, 192,400 km on the clock. Subframes have rust-cancer but the actual frame has been Krowned to death and is a solid grey-taupe color, no holes no rust. I passed on a Civic Touring a few years ago, I need heat & reliability. 🙂

This video is exactly why I canceled my 20 year subscription. “Nuculer?” Shouldn’t basic grammar skills (ex-presidents aside) be a requirement? Also, are all of the drivers in this test deaf? Nothing is louder than a Honda Accord inside. I sold them and it was the most common and difficult customer objection to overcome. Even in the video proclaiming its superiority, all you could hear was road noise. I couldn’t care less either way, but prioritizing sportiness over quiet, competence for a daily driver is asinine.

Drives me nuts when people can’t just give objective anlysis. He said in the early days there were so few good American cars they had to do 5 domestic and 5 foreign. Thats wrong. Just list the best cars available. Don’t interfere with it. I want to know what cars are the best. And that begs the question…what editorial decisions are they making now that we are unaware of? I don’t trust their list fully honest and unbiased.

I'd put the Elantra N on the list. I'd remove either the Type R or S, considering they both are repetitive. Having driven both, they do not perform/feel 11-17K better, don't offer 10 years/100k warranty including track days, and don't offer an automatic alternative. Also the Elantra N offers octane learning which is basically a stock hidden engine tune which raises max boost pressure from 15 to 20!! It ends up producing similar Type R/S HP and Torque. The Elantra N offers almost all the features on the Integra. 35K versus 46-52K, I think its an obvious answer. Put the same 265 width tires on the Elantra, and the manual version will offer lap times right behind the Type R/S, while the automatic with octane learning and tires will probably outperform them. Also the refresh Elantra N looks great and offers some improvements. Even if they raise the price a couple thousand, its still 10-15K less.

We need new people and fresh faces to do the 10 best. It is kind of one sided for the last 10 years. Not one car here can be also valued for long term historic reliability and maintaining low depreciation. But I understand these are new models. Just tired of seeing the same things over and over. Getting a little long on the tooth
