I made this chocolate cake without oven in a pot and it turned out super yummy, the only thing I changed in the recipe was that I added a bit less sugar(both brown and white) and to balance it out I added a bit more of flour. That way the dry ingredients remained the exact amount.

I made this recipe last Sunday for my hubby’s birthday and everyone LOVED IT. The frosting to cake ratio is perfect and it’s just sweet enough. Your recipes are incredibly solid. This won’t be the first of the last cake I’ll bake from you!!! Question: what would happen if one was to a, replace the water for the strong coffee with milk and bloomed the cacao in the hot milk too and/or b, replaced the milk in the batter with something like sour cream or yogurt? Moister but more denser cake?

Great video MK! There will be people who will say this is not a sheet cake because it was not made on a cookie sheet', but I bet you could bake it on a cookie sheet. This chocolate sheet cake is definitely the best I've eaten. It's packed with flavor, it's super moist and so easy to make. I'm not overly fond of frosting but this was delicious. I could not believe that I didn't need a mixer, I only used a whisk for the cake batter.

Just a small suggestion. Can you please give receipes that make things in small batches because a cake of this size is too big for my small family. Can you cut all ingredients by half ? Will that be an accurate recipe for a cake half the original size?

It looks gorgeous & easy to make. I want to bake this for my toddler & I cannot put coffee inside. What is the substitute for coffee powder? Besides, if i want to make a less sweet version of it, how many % of sugar can i reduce? U are a cake master that I admire much.
