Hey friend , I saw one of your videos. where you said that colombian cooking only has salt when you went back to mexico and compared flavors..try to go to the pacific portion like buena ventura or even cali where you have a stronger African cuisine...medellin or other central colombian cities are poked fun by other areas for not having good cooking. I went to mexico back in january and didn't see what you are talking about in terms of flavors. Not trying to hate just give other areas a try instead of medellin or bogota like most foreigners do. The pacific or even the south west cauca valley doesn't get as much exposure!

The best lessons you took away from Santa Marta stayed with you and this is a cool video of Medellin that I throughly enjoyed! When you take the right precautions, you can have fun in a place you don’t know well. Granted Medellin had quite a reputation you mentioned a couple of decades ago was a violent place and today its come of age as an attractive, vibrant and welcoming city. He can't have been back from Panama for very long as I just watched one of his most recent vlogs from there! Some great tips on how to enjoy the place with tours, given one might have some trepidation with not knowing Spanish. We did exactly the same in Santiago Chile, Montevideo Uruguay and Mexico City. There seems to be no shortage of enterprising mostly young people in these cities who know English and who make their living giving tours to gringos like us. Well done!

fun fact. 😊 Did you know that MEDELLIN was the first city on the planet to implement cable cars as a means of public transportation within a city? Throughout the world cable cars had always been used for tourist sites, but never as public transport within a city, the first Medellin metrocable was inaugurated in 2004 and it was such an innovative and successful idea that the city currently has 6 metrocables, This system had such an impact on the city that it helped reduce crime rates where they were built. This system is so revolutionary that it has already been successfully implemented and replicated in many cities in Colombia and the world, such as: RIO DE JANEIRO, CDMX. , SANTO DOMINGO, CARACAS, LA PAZ, BOGOTA, CALI, PEREIRA, MANIZALES etc.

The rock there is a very popular place that has great views of the area. I flew my drone there too. Also there is some history about the town of El Peñol and how the town had to move because of the reservoir. Comuna 13 that you briefly showed is also a must there. Good luck on your trip to Brazil.

@alexsandoval6712 жыл бұрын
