The BEST Controller Settings for XDefiant!

One of the more difficult parts of XDefiant is finding controller settings that feel great but after a ton of testing and optimization, I've finally found the perfect settings for me and I wanted to share that with you guys today while also explaining how many of the less obvious settings work. Obviously, many of these come down to personal preference so I encourage you to make adjustments that suit you. What are the sensitivity values you landed on with XDefiant?

For the sweats out there, team compensation overlay is a great setting to have on. If you’re pushing a certain area of the map and you see that you got three squad mates dead you might want to stay clear of it until they come back.

That blend tip for ADS transition is clutch. Makes things feel so much smoother. All the other stuff I had figured out and tweaked to my liking. But hadn't even thought to mess with that setting.

@@XvSuPreMzvXthere are two different sens when aiming if you don’t use a 1.0x ads factor and blend make its that when you aim in your aim doesn’t automatically adjust to your ads sens. If you play less than or more than 1 it matters but if you keep it 1.0x they’d be no difference between instant blend and after-zoom.

I play on 10-10 dynamic in cod and the controls in this game feel flawless now. It was rough at first, but I don’t understand how people are saying the controls don’t feel right. They feel different, like Apex feels different. But they are just fine. Tweak and play. Everything else is just in your head.

​@@spoonover same here, settings felt weird at first but what I'm running atm which feels good is - 60 60 sens, blend and linear with a 0.85x sens multiplier. Seems to be working good for me. Blend definitely helped a lot. Reverse s curve also felt very weird to me, but linear felt much better

I play cod on an 8:8 sensitivity and with everything else you mentioned we have very similar settings. This XDefiant setup is absolutely amazing for myself ! I tweaked a couple things like the vertical sensitivity but not by much and a couple other things but I'm enjoying the game A LOT more now thank you for this video!!! It's exactly what I needed ! I also play on Dualsense Edge controller so things are a bit different because of that too but overall fantastic guide !!

Awesome tips ace. I use an 8 sensitivity for both horizontal and vertical in cod, and in this game I landed on 60/60 for both, tried 70 but it was way too fast. When it comes to my fov I also like 105, but having my aim fov independent, just makes seeing people when ads a little bit easier.

I use settings extremely similar to you (might try the 2/3 ratio for sensitivity which might help a bit) However it might just be me but I really got thrown off by not having CoD tier aim assist. I played this for about 4 hours with a buddy then went back to cod and man the AA is so different feeling to me. However i'm very excited for Xdefiant, honestly its very refreshing to have connection based match making again rather than EOMM. Amazing content as always Ace.

Yessir I was shown how to get in to the practice zone by Yt Jonny and I was really grateful for it . But the sensitivity settings have been a hassle cause i been tweaking them since launch and i will definitely try doing something similar to your's and see how that one goes. But i tried doing standard and linear and it felt off . But the s curve felt better definitely gonna turn that ping on to see the ping

Yes I die round corners in almost every lobby it's either connection or the game has broken cameras where the enemy can still see me despite being round corner it's hard to tell without killcams

Interesting, I quite like the aim interrupts reload over the sprint in this game. I find I can reload cancel and be on target at the same time. I agree on the 2:3 sensitivity ratio in this game. And lastly, thank god for 120hz mode, wouldn't play this game without it. That's why I stopped playing the finals lol

Hey Ace, will you revisit this once the pros start refining the standard sens? 6/6 Dynamic CoD XD 54/18 Reverse S w/ 0.75 multiplier The problem with the aiming is micromovements in hipfire are hard if you are trying to play with a fast turn speed. I think the tuning order should be to start with a 0-0.5 look accel, find sens with a focus on accuracy at the hip and then configure ADS values. After that adjust your acceleration as needed? Anything after 70 feels extremely imprecise at the hip for micromovements.

I agree with you on the sensitivity. Vertical is fast even when it's at 35. My horizontal is at 40 rather than 50. Maybe I'll move up to 50 after I get used to the speed

Sometimes it feels like my character is moving through mud; sometimes I’m skating on ice. Consistency of hit reg would help improve the experience (PS5 uk - wired fibre internet).

Movement is punished for continuous slides, you have to wait a few seconds between each one to get the full slide again

They need more dead zone options. I have used precision rings for years now and have a hard time with these settings. I pull to the right way quicker than to the left. But I’ve never had issues with this on cod

Something about this game’s controller feeling just feels off? Sometimes it feels like the inputs take a millisecond too long to register, and sometimes suddenly reactive and back to sluggish? It doesn’t have to feel like cod but it feels more sluggish than single player games like elden ring and horizon, but I have no idea why it feels this way.

The small stick inputs are slower than typical, and the medium stick inputs seem to accelerate very quickly. There less wiggle room between fine adjustments and fast jerks

If you're transitioning from COD, you need to make some minor adjustments to your sensitivity. But basically its supposed to be your xdefiant sens = your COD sens multiplied by 5 (since xdefiant has a max of 100 and COD has 20). I play on 8-8 in COD but for some reason 40-40 on xdefiant feels really slow even on Linear. I ended up settling on 50-50
