*TO ANYONE RANKING UP THE TRADER ROLE:* I may have found a slightly quicker way to rank up the trader role. It will get you a full level every 45 minutes and costs 165 dollars a level. You set your camp up as close to madam nazar as possible and keep riding to her buy max flight feathers then ride back to camp and give them to cripps for 60XP. Then you just rinse and repeat. You can also sell goods as a break to get even more XP and you will need to do a resupply mission giving you even more XP.

Brightness. cant stress this enough turn it all the way up (in game not tv) you will see so much more clearly than the average player without ruining the aesthetic. It actually makes it so that the horses light hinders your visibility at night rather than help it.

I can‘t recommend Standard FPS. As you usually ride most of the time and have to accelerate your horse (on PS4) by pressing X, you often get confused when you want to run in battles and hit accidently X.

I def agree with zero dead zone and max aim/look acceleration. This game look default settings are def too slow. I have look sensitivity about 70% and aim sens about 95%. I think those are def personal preference, but overall default sensitivity are too slow for sure. Have to disagree with the aim assist strength. At zero, u already get the max benefit. When u crank it up, it makes it extremely hard to remove your reticle from the target. Like, if u target your bounty target, but don’t want to shoot him, at zero aim assist strength, when u ads and lock on to a target, u still have to force it to move off the target to another target. U can always let go of ads and try to re-lock-on to next target. But, I had issues with this in story mode, and so I played around with these settings. I highly suggest zero for aim assist strength, so that u can always readjust your reticle while ads. The snap lock on will still be the same, and there will always be some ‘strength’ to the lock on allowing u to keep aim and then look for headshot. But, at zero, u now have a little more flexibility/control to remove your ads lock on from the target while maintaining ads if u want. For mount aim assist strength, I put at 50% because you do need a little more strength to maintain ads often when riding your horse. To anyone with an Xbox elite controller, I highly suggest changing the sensitivity curve to ‘aggressive’ and then fine tuning to your own preferences. This helps remove overall dead zone as well and makes controller feel much more responsive. Before doing this, i was freaking out over how long it took my red dead player to move when I moved the sticks. I did some research on controller settings and found this aggressive thing out. It’s such a huge bonus to the elite and makes playing all games more responsive. And, can help some with stick drift. Best advice coming from this video was the right stick clock for looking behind and then aiming. Seriously, hazard, u saved my distant delivery. Lol. I watched this vid, then did a distant delivery. Some clown was trying to steal it. He killed me once, but I got him back, hopped back on, he kept chasing me. Anytime he got close enough, I gave it the click stick and aim, and kept doming him. Lol. I killed him 3 times, I think, once, right at the drop off. But, I sold those goods. 😎 Thanks for the tip. That look behind and aim is a HUGE assist.

your settings are way too sensitive. try turning look acceleration 4 notches down and that will help for sniper rifles.

Low sensitivity sniping is the most constricting part of any game in my opinion. There’s no way to be aggressive with a lower sens. Maybe for reg gunplay but this game doesn’t really facilitate that with the auto lock. I’ve always found higher sens helps me. Maybe it’s because I’ve played like that since cod4/cod waw. Do you snipe in first or third person?

My only issue with controllers on PC is erratic horse riding. So easy to ride with keyboard/mouse. So hard to go navigate a pathway with a controller. I'll try these settings but remain doubtful.

Im trying free aim because most of the pvp stuff ive tried doesnt use aim lock and I was getting destroyed . The fps setting tip is going to help alot because I couldnt figure out how opponents were running, moving side to side and aiming ,firing there weapon at the same time .im new to online multiplayer games . Does anyone know why other players in pvp matches will be in front of you and then blink out and reappear behind you or next to you ? It makes hitting them damn near impossible .It doesnt happen every match. I had one guy run into a through a wall and reappear behind me .

I use all the same settings apart from dead zone is two bars from minimum because if I put it right down I get joystick drift. I've tried cleaning it out but I think all the times I press R3 to activate dead eye have knackered it I think lol.. Maybe time for a new controller

I just read online that if you switch your aim to free aim it puts you in a free aim only lobby. Just checked the settings and it says some lobbies are free aim only. Can anyone verify this? Glitch Hold To Run:This glitch ruins your game you can't change it back to toggle to run.
