Have started with the course after having deep thoughts about whether I should go for this or some other certification. However the clarity you provided in this video about the type of jobs is absolutely what I wish to work in(not particularly doing the technical work but having a position between managerial tasks and cyber security). The details included in your short video is amazing. Even a beginner will be able to understand the concepts clearly. As suggested by a user in his comment, I definitely preferred to slowdown the video to absorb what is being said. Will share the updates on the results after doing the course and finding the job. Thanks @UnixGuy

I want to seize this opportunity to say thank you to Unix Guy for the release of this GRC course. I have been following Unix guy for a while and I can tell that he knows his stuff very well. I can't even compare this course to any other class I have attended. I purchased the class the moment it was released. I enjoyed every aspect of the course from start to the end. Not too long module and it is straight to the point. My favorite part was the Capstone Project. The project provided me with the knowledge of performing a complete cyber security assessment using the NIST framework. Thank you again for this GRC course.

Thank you for this. I’ve been helpdesk at TXHHSC for 3 years now and I work with so many departments like EIAM, IAmOnline Support, Vulnerability analyst and this is all starting to make sense. I can already tell this course will be the reason I’m able to be promoted to one of those senior level roles and get me started on my cyber security path. I really trust your information based of your videos and how heavily you emphasize practical projects. I swear people don’t realize how much stuff in IT you can’t theorize your way around even on HD in REAL LIFE. So much from a+ and network + I don’t even remember nor use but it’s good to have stored. I feel I like GRC is a almost like “the helpdesk” for cybersecurity in a sense but still way more advanced. There’s absolutely no course that focus on GRC and the broad categories within this field. Much appreciated ❤️

Hi, Abed! I am glad I purchased and completed your course. It was really insightful, especially from the viewpoint of a consultant, which is how I currently work. The following are the queries I would want to pose: 1. Will the course materials be updated periodically? 2. I see that NIST is the main framework you use; will you be introducing another framework as a reference, such CIS control or ISO 27001/02? 3. Not crucial, but it would be fantastic if you included some GRC tools that allow automated situation mapping to the framework. Thank you once more for dedicating your time to this course!
@UnixGuy22 күн бұрын
Hey mate, glad you enjoyed the course! 1) honestly I will only update if there is a need! there hasn’t been a change that requires that you’re meant to view the video more than once so its worth doing again as a refresher or to dive deep in a topic! 2) I don’t have a plan for ISO. The idea is to equip you to be able to read and interpret any framework, including ISO. If you’re able to solve the capstone, ISO (and other frameworks) also talk about the same thing 3) In the world of GRC, the commercial tools (like RSA Archer) aren’t really accessible for students so there is no way to showcase them but in all honesty, the tools are glorified spreadsheets (with a web interface). For example, performing a risk assessment and capturing the results in a word document or a spreadsheet or in RSA Archer is the same, the trick is to be able to perform the risk assessment hope this makes sense :)

Thank you so much. You have been like a mentor to me through my Cybersecurity journey. I have paid thousands of pounds for Cybersecurity only for it to be delivered as an information dump with the expectation that you will go and figure it out yourself. Currently doing the Google Cybersecurity Certificate but will definitely do this after I complete it. Thanks for the time you've put into providing us noobs understandable information and practical advise.

Fantastic Video! Thanks for preparing this course, I`m excited to see what's in the course. I already took the foundational courses, plus most of the practical courses in coursera. So my question is, do you think taking this course help you to be all rounded in the field of cybersecurity?? And would you recommend taking this course, and some technical courses (as the path you mentioned in your videos), and then apply for both?? And in what sense do you think this course, if any, will enhance the technical course we took before?? Last one, can you give some ideas (I know you have a video addressing that, but can you tell us more), on how to put the technical practical course, and this course in our resume. I appreciate your support.

hey mate, this course will make you a more well rounded cyber professional but this is not a technical course, so if you want a technical career i recommend you continue with technical courses. I’ve showed you how to put projects on your CV in other videos

Thank you for this amazing channel and course you have developed. I am new to this channel and cybersecurity. I am currently the last year of my bachelors degree in computer science and have not taken anything specifically on cybersecurity. Would this course be a good place for me to start from scratch, or should i get other certifications first and come back to this course? Thank you in advance for your help

Thanks for this UnixGuy. I've been following you for a little while now and completed my Google Cyber Security course last month. I was contemplating on my next move and was looking at the Blue Team Level 1 / HTB Academy you recommended to progress as the next course. However, this course may be what Im looking for. I have a Compliance background and have worked in the GRC space for a couple of years (within financial services). Now I just need to determine if I want to pursue a technical or non-technical avenue into Cyber... One of the big drivers into wanting to get into cyber is to have flexibility for remote work, would GRC type of roles allow this? Is this something you know of? 🤔🤔 Thanks again!
@UnixGuy4 ай бұрын
hey Elwyn, Remote work is organisation dependent not role dependent. Some companies allow remote work, some don’t. No difference in that area between technical and non-technical if you already have compliance background then this course will compliment and expand your skills. If you not certain, no reason why you can’t do both. The lessons that you learned whether technical or non-technical are transferrable

Hi, unfortunately I don’t have capacity to do one on one resume reviews or mentoring due to the large number of requests that I get daily! you’ll find most of the information that you need in the videos (please watch them) and if you still require further help then I have a paid mentorship call (link in the about section of this youtube channel) 🙂

The course teaches you how to interpret frameworks, so when you finish it you will be equipped to be able to read PCI-DSS and other frameworks :) the capstone is done on NIST just to show you how frameworks work

Congratulations on the launch. How does your course differ from the non-technical parts of the material covered by CompTIA Security+?
@UnixGuy4 ай бұрын
security+ takes through the ‘definitions’ of things. My course explains the concepts and how they’re applied in the real world. Security+ is mainly text and multiple choice, this one is practical with practical assessments and a capstone project. Do both if you can :)

@UnixGuy4 ай бұрын
im gonna make it count CPEs in the near future! I haven’t calculated the length of time in the videos but they’re short and brief - you can see the length in the course page the practical assessments are company description and you provide the solution. Even the videos are based on practical implementation (no theory fluff) I explained the capstone project in the video :)

I want to know that nobody knows about GRC course, it's new in the market, why would someone will give me job based on this certificate? No one is aware about what this course covers, how someone would even consider us for an interview? If we say Security + then it is well recognized and everyone knows about it. Hope you have convincing reply. You know if someone questions means he is curious to take this up.

I do have an interest in GRC as a long term play; no rush. I have absolutely no technical background skill. For fundamental purposes, would u recommend completing the google it support certificate then the google and Microsoft cybersecurity certificates?.. I tend get bored fairly easy at this stage in my life which is why I prefer hands on. But naturally as I get older, something at a slower pace.
