I own several sportscars, eg. Ferrari Pista, Porsche 992, but believe it or not, my i8 Roadster gives me a feeling none of the others can do. It's not the fasted, it's not the best handling, but you feel all the engeniering and it gives you a very special feeling. It's a milestone in BMW history as e.g. the M1.

Same i usually drive the chiron pur sport but the turbos muffle my ears so i decided to sell it and buy 70! bmw i8s brand new i preorderderd them i let me 10 yr old son drive me and take me to school😊

On the i8, have you had any issues with the Mini 3 cylinder turbo including any cooling issues? Battery still good? I wish BMW would come out with a full ICE version using the i8 body. Drop in a turbo I6 or small V8 putting out about 500 bhp with flared wheel wells. The car without the battery and other stuff would be pretty light due to carbon fiber. They could even do a mash up design of the i8 and M1. The M1 was done by Giorgio Giugiaro but was based on the Paul Bracq E25 BMW mid engine turbo concept that you can see at their museum.

To say the 0-60 is "not great" I feel like is kinda stupid. with just a simple tune and exhaust you can get the 0-60 to 3.9. 90% of people on the road don't have something even near that speed. It's a very fast car, and I wish spoiled influencers would stop pretending its not as if everybody would agree. I can't tell if its like to boost your ego or if you personally own some kind of twin turbo V12, which I doubt, so I don't understand why people say this. I've seen i8's beat 2024 mustang GT's and the such which are now around the same price as an i8. It's a fantastic value, and it is NOT slow. "It's not going to keep up with anything" yea except for just about every other car on the road 99% of the time. L.

Even stock, it gets 4.1s 0-60 so a tune isn't even that necessary. How often are you going to full send on a public road anyhow? The whole point of this car is so much more than just acceleration. Now, I do understand that for its MSRP, the car is relatively slow because $150k can get you quite a lot of car that will do low 3s. I think that is where the problem lies, but as a used car for around $50k, it's a great value.

I agree. I have a 2014 i8 which i have ran a 0-60mph in 4 seconds. That is only .5 seconds slower than far more exotic cars. In fact its even faster than an R8 of a similar age.

@Legacyofmine in 10k miles I haven’t had issues or anything outside normal maintenance. But at the end of the day it is still bmw!
