This is such a great addition. Finally I don't have to spend 10 mins putting way points in manually. That tedious activity just puts me off flying in DCS sometimes.

@@christianlohmann9482 I definitely agree. I think a healthy mix between “game” like this update and simulation is a great way to appeal to people to pick it up. A lot of ppl buy FC3 to dip their toes and then move to the “real” aircraft.

This is a good quality of life feature. It's really too bad that AFAIK you can't send the flight plan to your wingman. Maybe that should be next.

If its a friend you already know you can download the file and just send it to them. Edit: that only works if youre using "the way" app for dcs.

Oh god, I'm someone who really needed that, since I'm one of those guys who always took my time to input everything manually, which eventually gets a bit tiresome. Not only can you now make the process faster, but more importantly, you can now use waypoints on FC3 planes too.

It's a half cooked feature like their usual doing. There's missing speed and altitude parameters which are vital for proper planning both nav and tactical phases and can't be shared with others

its nice, im just kinda disappointed that it looks like a copy and paste of the mission editor route tool and not like an actualt flight plan maker. it also looks very basic and gives you very limited information about your waypoint, which kinda sucks for warbirds

So you would rather create a complex flight plan on a dynamic pvp server,rather than just pressing f10 sometimes? SA using waypoints? The battlezone layout is very simple,on red you either go north or west,and on blue you go east or south depending on where you spawn.And Caucasus itself is the oldest and most known map,are you really having that much trouble with navigation and SA? of course you do you,but i see it as a waste of time on servers where there are ground targets no more than a strike waypoint and home base waypoint is needed,as the rest of navigation can be done manually without waypoints so i really don't get your point...

your vision is limited to what is usually defined as "air quake" kind of play. There's lots of organized groups who actually do tons of planning before even getting in a server. Now, this feature is mostly useless as it is as it lacks pieces of the puzzle, for which external tools like DCS-DTC or TheWay do a much better job

@@Kid574 in ussual multiplayer servers there are no organised groups,everybody does what they want,he tried to organize chaos or "air quake"but with random players and random shit happening a plan quickly becomes usseles.If he advertised the planer in the context of organised groups that do big planed pve missions than it would make more sense growling sidewinder was a pretty bad exemple for this feature

left clicking a few times is easier than checking f10 map, ensuring you're in the right orientation, losing all situational awareness. you're literally hating just to hate

It will help in making target waypoints for gps guided munitions if you know what you will strike. Rather than typing in coordinates for 10 mins.

A) For VR users bringing up the F10 map destroys performance as it hogs vram. B) Tinkering with all the systems & features is fun, i.e. I love to use ADF in the Huey & Hind but I don’t need to, I could just bring up the F10 map!

I'm not sure if this update should only be available for Flaming Cliffs aircrafts. It kills the fun of learning the navigation systems and entering flight plans by ourselves, before takeoff.

I was just coming down here to say that exact thing. When he said it I knew it would not be a long lived absence. Too many exciting things going on in DCS right now and many more upcoming. Wait until the C130 is released with the new expanded cargo system. That alone is worth staying involved. The new maps being announced, old maps being refreshed like the Sinai being updated. Hell, it’s just getting good! Why would someone with his skills and followers leave during the golden age of combat simulation?
