Only one year warranty for a very expensive electronic product? In Australia our Consumer Protection legislation means that you get 3 year warranty. Also when getting the regular 10% discount at third party store is matched by Apple Stores. But I still buy from the 3rd party stores because I use the discounted price as a starting point and negotiate a further discount even using the same store's branches against each other. I am astonished that people will walk into an Apple Store, pay full price and then use Apple Credit, the MOST expensive way to buy what is already an expensive product!

Mac mini M2 at $500 is a crazy deal. Why do you Americans have it so good compared to us in Europe?

The quoted US price does not include tax. In the US every state has its own sales tax, plus additional city and other taxes. You never know how much anything actually costs until you get to the check out. VAT in Europe is included in the price and often high. Plus Apple has the nasty habit of giving very bad exchange rates, making the pound or euro the same figure as US$.
