best youtuber for vocals by far. Should i sidechain the delay insert with the vocal insert btw? So it gets lower when the vocal is singing.

It’s not about only how to use but you describe why we need to use or not . That is very useful for beginner like me . Thank you.

I've done similar with Studio One Artist 6 and their analog delay. I was about to buy that same Waves HDelay, but wanted to at least try what I've already got. Anyway, it's great info, thanks for the tutorial.

You probably already know, but you can also use the volume knob on your Fruity Sends in order to control the blending. This is useful for if you want different vocals using the same Delay channels with different blends

I'm using studio one 6, and I learned so much from you... only, I have a problem with "S" on my vocal. Dont know to use De-esser.Please make video. Thanx

You can try either Deesser or melodyne to remove - reduce the S stuff.

Should you always match the notes with delay and reverb? Like have them both 1/4 1/8 etc.
@pieredoir3 ай бұрын
Actually, instead of fixing the volume of the delay with its volume fader, I handle it with the send volume on my track. This way I can use the same delay for different tracks but with different volumes. Same with Reverbs.
@mixwithjerry3 ай бұрын
@@pieredoir Yeah that is essential if sending multiple tracks through one effect! Thanks for sharing.

yo bruh can you explain these waves mono and stereo plugin ? By default all the fl studio mixter channel they are stereo so should i add stereo plugin for vocal mixing or mono.... hope you explain this
@mixwithjerry2 жыл бұрын
I always use the mono plugins on mono sound sources. For instance, my vocal coming into the computer is a mono sound source since it’s coming from one microphone signal so I’ll use the mono versions of plugins like compressors or EQ. If I have like a piano or synthesizer plugin that is in stereo then I’ll use the stereo plugins to mix it. Something to note is that if you use a stereo version of a plugin on a mono sound source, like for a vocal, then it won’t all of a sudden make you sound source stereo. So you could use stereo plugins on everything if you wanted to.

Hi Jerry, do you sidechain the delay channel or route it?
@mixwithjerry2 жыл бұрын
Route the main vocal to the delay and you can control the volume level of the delay with either the mixer volume fader or the output gain on the delay plugin. Keep in mind that the main vocal will be routed to multiple places (vocal bus or master, reverb send, delay send, etc.)
@crimson35102 жыл бұрын

So many people like this plugin but when I use it, I get a volume spike whenever the delay hits. Also I get a lot of feedback/white noise.
@mixwithjerry4 ай бұрын
@@melodyman9162 Turn the analog setting off to get rid of the white noise. If you have the delay on a send track you can control the level of the delay with the volume fader. If you have it loaded directly on the track as an insert then you’d have to use the mix knob to control the level of the delay, which isn’t the best method for control.
@melodyman91624 ай бұрын
@@mixwithjerry Hey Jerry, thank you for you response I will try all you suggested and I never have it directly on a channel strip always on a send/bus.

most videos i watched they use 1/4 Note ... thats a big jump to 1/16
@mixwithjerry Жыл бұрын
I talk about this is in one of my recent vocal chain videos. I used to set it at 1/16th or 1/8th, but now I set it at 1/2 and 1/4th. It just depends on tempo of song, if the project is set in double-time, and where the feedback knob is set.
@ZebSound Жыл бұрын
@@mixwithjerry hm okay, because the effect and the outcome are really different if I set it to 1/16 or 1/4. I will try both
@mixwithjerry Жыл бұрын
@@ZebSound well yeah they’re definitely going to sound different. I’ve never said they’re going to sound the same. It’s all about experimenting and seeing which effect you like. Either you want words repeated or phrases.
