Great review. Im in this same situation with my dog. Gonna purchase this crate and give it a shot. I haven’t purchased an expensive crate yet so this will be my first and hopefully the only one I need.

Thank you soooo much for this review. Im currently on the market for a durable crate because my husky has completely DESTROYED all cages/kennels we've gotten and its been a nightmare. She has seperation anxiety that has gotten worse since Ive been work from home. Well now I'll be going back to the office in September and we are on the hunt for something that can keep her in cause she has also scratched our panels by the door trying to get out when we leave and blinds. I saw this online and thought id check to see if anyone put a review and found yours, so thanks again and can't wait to get this and try it out!! Have a good one and sorry for the rant, but its been so frustrating! Purchasing kennel after kennel and the kong brand of them too and she breaks out or bites through them so Im hoping this is going to be the one that works out!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

I'm currently looking for one for my husky too. She's a nightmare when left alone. This review helped except I wish he would have elaborated more on the hinges that might give out. How r ur hinges since uve had it?

He never got out. We stopped keeping him in it after a few weeks when he adjusted to the new house. He would chew the bars so be mindful of the dogs teeth.

I recently saw a 'rescue' dog chew its way out of that exact crate. The dog wasn't even a powerhouse, just a husky mix from a remote community that had never been inside a home let alone in a crate. It wasn't my dog, it was a friend fostering for a rescue. Took about two hours and the dog literally chewed the bars apart (thin metal) and got out.

I came here to ask a question. How heavy is the dog crate? I ordered on and have to carry it to the basement.
@PromisKeeper4 ай бұрын
It is fairly heavy. You’ll want an extra hand to take it down stairs. I don’t remember how much of it came preassembled anymore, but the awkward size, weight and the movement because of the hinges make it a chore to move alone.
@hannahking19844 ай бұрын
@PromisKeeper Yeah, I like to think I'm strong but I was worried about taking this to our basement. It is coming not assembled yet so I think I'll assemble it in the basement. Ugh praying lol. Thank you.

Not really. The only thing not secured in place that could rattle is the door itself.

If I could I’d add pics of what my rescue pit did to this very crate. He chewed on the bars of the door and broke the welds of two bars, removed them then squeezed out. I’ll send pics to anyone interested. Don’t know how to post pics in here.

Hi I’d be interested to see this please, I’m trying to buy a crate for my presa canario who has broken out of other crates and hurt himself 😢
@debratowles3 жыл бұрын
Truly appreciate the thorough review. Is it possible to remove one side if I wanted to hook two of these together to crate two dogs?
@PromisKeeper3 жыл бұрын
I won’t say it’s impossible but you wouldn’t be able to combine them very safely or easily. The way the sides are hinged, they have welded tabs that use a simple nut and bolt. Taking the nut and bolt off is easy but then you are left with the welded tab sticking up that could injure the animal unless you grind them off. If you were to bolt the longer front face and back face of the cage, just like with the tabs, you’d have to be careful not to leave anything sharp protruding that the animal could get hurt on. Not a bad idea though.

Can anyone give me so advice I had my puppy 7 months now she has separation issue. I brought a Crate from. Petco for $100.00 and something she has destroyed it. I can't even get her to get in there without her trying to bite me. I love my puppy so much and other than me trying to leave she is a sweetheart. A few weeks ago I decided to let her walk around the house while we was gone and she CHEWED my two front window seal. All the wood she chew up. Also she ate and chew the blinds. Anyone have any ideas? She is a beagle mix with bloodhound.

Late but you could get something like a kennel that’s bigger so she doesn’t feel as trapped
@brix57782 жыл бұрын
The same thing happened to me! I’m so relieved I’m not the only one . My dog had chewed up my entire window seal I was shocked to see he could even do that. That day was so embarrassing, the windows were left open for everyone in my complex to see the mess he left in my house. There was paper towel everywhere, food, dog poop and pee. I had the cops call and threaten to call animal control while I was at work!🙄🙄🙄 ugh anyways I’m trying this cage I hope it works 🤞🏻

@PromisKeeper2 жыл бұрын
He was a rescue we picked up when he was about a year old. Even though he could be hyper and easily stressed, he was surprisingly well behaved. He just really did not like cages and the stress of moving to a new house got the better of him and he chewed some things up. We kept him in the cage for a few months until I convinced the family to give him a few tries at staying out. I think we could have let him run free within the first few weeks after he adjusted to the new place and knew we weren’t going anywhere.

what kind of dog bed is that

We picked it up at rural king. The cover is more like nylon. It’s held up much better than past dog beds where the stitching always started falling apart.

The problem isn’t the crate, it’s the fact you haven’t socialised him with the crate & you haven’t allowed him to get accustomed with being alone.

You're a trip. Why would you get ready to leave *before* putting your pup in its crate? You're, basically, instructing him to be difficult and anxious.

caging a dog for separation anxiety "solves" the owner's problem, does NOTHING to help the dog. Instead of treating your dog like a criminal for "destroying things," talk to your veterinarian for treatment or referral to a veterinarian who specializes in treating dogs with this problem. Imagine having a panic attack and being confined to a small room with no one there to offer you help or relief. Your dog can break its teeth and even its lower jaw (yes, it has happened) trying to get out - spend your money instead by getting him proper treatment for this panic disorder instead of buying an elaborate prison.
@PromisKeeper Жыл бұрын
There are many opinions on caging animals. Not sure what someone is expected to do when you can’t take maternity leave for a new pet. I suppose we could have just left him in the cage at the shelter 🤷🏼♂️ . You’ll be happy to know he spent very little time in the cage as he adjusted to the new house. He is safe to leave out when we leave.
