Hi guys!
We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it. The weather is definitely starting to warm up and we're just now starting to get our trail legs. These past few days we've learned a few lessons and have grown even closer to both each other and our little family. We've had some long walks but it takes us that much closer to our goal. Thanks for joining us on the journey so far.
Let us know in the comments if there is any info you would like for us to share with you! We've put in the conversion for miles and USD in this vlog and will continue to do so in the future for those who use different measurements and currencies. This is Chris's second time walking and Grace's first, but between the two of us we should be able to point you in the right direction.
Please don't forget to like, comment, share, and & subscribe, it really helps the channel and can show off more of our beautiful adventure. As always: BUEN CAMINO.

Walked the Camino last year. While I am not a Catholic, I attended several Pilgrim’s Masses. I couldn’t understand much, however, oftentimes simply sat in silence and contemplated the moment and the “Camino Experience.” Going back next year, starting in Saint Jean’s on my 70th birthday. My prayer is God will open my eyes to the next chapter of my “post-retirement” life. Buen Camino

We have since had a few more pilgrims masses or have went to mass before dinner. We are also not Catholic, but we believe the moments of silence and listening to the older generations’ chanting voices echo through the massively old churches has its own beauty. Beauty that needs to be experienced. That is so incredible! We hope the Lord blesses your post-retirement life and you have a wonderful Camino. One of our favorite pilgrims turned 72 on the Camino and he’s faster than us! Buen Camino, amigo 🤙🏻

I think I stayed at that same donativo in Logrono (9 years ago!!) and it was wonderful. A Catholic/pilgrim's mass would be a very different kind of experience if you've never done anything like it before, and I think it's so wonderful to see people on the Camino open to having experiences that you might not in life at home. Thank you for sharing your own experiences so beautifully in these videos! Also, just because I care very much about this: donativos ARE a donation, but the idea is that- if you can afford it- you donate the amount of money that the services are worth. So if you get a bed, dinner and breakfast, you'd donate a comparable amount to what you've been spending on that on other stages of the Camino. For those that can't afford it, the donativos are a beautiful system that can help cover these costs for pilgrims who truly need it. Also, the money goes towards the upkeep of the building and food supplies, etc, for the next day's pilgrims! So it's important to make a good donation if you have the means. I like to try to share this info because not everyone understands it and there are many beautiful and wonderful donativo albergues on the Camino that struggle to exist because of not receiving enough donations, or some pilgrims thinking that donativo=free and/or greatly reduced costs. I remember this being unclear to me on my first Camino so I hope this (expanded, haha) info might be helpful to others!

thank you so much for mentioning that! we always try to leave enough to pay it forward. Most of the donativos are so friendly and always mean well. Everyone has a specific journey for the Camino and it's important to follow your own. We LOVE that you are here adding to our journey. Thank you, Nadine.

As a roman catholic, if you think a pilgrim’s mass is strange, then a traditional latin mass tops everything. Its twice as long, more hymns sung, and everything is spoken in latin. Stay safe as you walk on forward.

Hahaha we can imagine! We opted for the pilgrim’s mass due to it being shorter (we were very hungry at the time) and it was very interesting. We’re not against it, just the first time experiencing the Catholic mass. We hope to experience more going forward, there are some beautiful traditions. Maybe just when we are less hungry 😉

i walked the Camino with my son in 2019 to mark the end of a 5 year discipleship journey into manhood. I am living these video updates, keep em coming. Bring back such great memories. If you have a venmo or cashap drop you name and I'll send you a gift to get another private room or hotel. Several people did it for us and it was a game changer. Buen Camino.

Wow that sounds like you two had a wonderful adventure. Which route did you do? The Camino Frances? We love seeing parents walking with their children, regardless of age. It really is something special. If we ever have a family one day you better believe we’re walking the Camino together 😊 That is so incredibly kind! We will have to pay it forward somehow somewhere. Our venmo is @TheRoamingRosses We’re traveling for awhile after the Camino so we are trying not to spend too much money, our only private room was a huge and much needed luxury 😂
