When I did my astro van we had cables like metal rope type with crimps and mounted driver door popper where you did and extended a cable from the eye hole down.

I also remember installing my first alarm. Instead of cutting crank wire for starter Interrupt. I cut the left turn signal. If somebody stole the car they wouldn’t be able to make left hand turns!! Hahhaha. I didn’t realize it was a total different gage wire!!!

Typically those popper kits come with a cable to feed through the popper and up to your door latch. It also allows you to put a little slack in the cable so you dont break your door latch connection.

my 93 del sol, installed an alarm and the locking/unlocking system with poppers. so when i hit my keyfob it would unlock both doors. everything worked great except the alarm sensitivity. on its lowest mode it would never go off. a car could crash into me and it wouldn't go off. on setting 1, literally 1 step higher, a gust of wind could hit my car and the alarm would go off.... i was so mad. hooked it up as per the unit. the unit, i forget which, but it was like an 800 dollar model that newegg was selling dirt cheap. at the time newegg tried to branch out into car audio but no one was biting. they only used newegg for pc parts. so since the alarms weren't selling, they dropped the prices just to get rid of stock. the guy at bestbuy came down to my work gearing my alarm go off when installing. hes like "why did you buy that unit, its overpriced" and when i told him how much i paid he was like "oh okay rofl".... and then dude gave me a free solenoid to make the door poppers work with the alarm system + harness.
