Question. Your classes focus on all the fundamentals (feet, hips,arms,head) As you see most riders struggle with these drills. Should there be all those number plates on the students bikes if the fundamentals are not drilled into the rider ?

A number on a plate doesn't necessarily indicate that a rider is pursuing racing. For most riders that I know, the number plate backgrounds simply complete the look of the bike. Numbers on a bike have been the normal lookever since motocross was a thing.

@@TRGP331 So riders just put their favorite number on their bikes for looks ? If that's the case why just not emulate you favorite rider and run the #1, 2 22,94 etc?

@@tomsadventures1001 a lot of guys actually do that, especially younger kids. Most guys I know who run numbers (probably 85% of the riders I know) pick a number of personal significance. I currently have the last 2 digits of my birth year, but next time I do numbers I will do 331- significant to my wedding anniversary (funny story behind that). My other reason for the switch is that in pro racing, a 2-digit number is usually a faster guy than a 3-digit number, and I wouldn't want to be presumptuous about my speed, lol. Just a preference thing, and a way to personalize the bike while completing the look.

@@TRGP331 I could understand those reasons. All legit. I do agree with you about having a "national" 2 digit number on your bike. That would seem like they are of a skill level of a national rider. I would love to run 12, my favorite number but I don't want to be that guy that gets in the way on track of triple digit riders.

Yea I have raced a couple races but normally I just go to track and practice and have fun I’m 27 and need to make it to work on Monday so after entering a couple races in c class i just was like this is insanely dangerous because of the lack of experience some of the 40 riders in the class have. But i put my favorite number on my bike it just completed the look and so my wife could figure out which Yamaha I was 😂
