The Milani Prep + Soothe Camellia Facial Oil is amazing as well. I have oily skin in the t-zone and combination elsewhere, but lately my skin has needed some extra radiance/hydration so I’ve been using when I get out of the shower and honestly it looks great under foundation with my primers as well as on its own on bareskin days. It gives a nice glow while not looking greasy or making me oily and has never broke me out with my sensitive skin. Well worth a try!!

You are so fun to hang out with! I think the best "you don't need anything else" eyeshadow palette of the year isn't Born to Run, but the two Colourpop Kathleen Lights palettes together. Especially with the mattes, I'm always reaching across palettes. Nothing is duplicated, e.g. the dark browns: Elfish is warm and The Virgo is cool. Kaleidoscope is one of the most innovative shades on the planet. I love Born to Run but I took Dream Street and Zodiac when I traveled. Zodiac has a mirror so it works! The Shayla Perception keeps being named as a dupe for Born to Run, but it isn't. There are a few shades that look similar (but only in swatches and in the pan, not on the eye) but that isn't what makes a great travel palette. It also irks me because Colourpop and Shayla are both creative and original. They're not Bad Habit or Wet n Wild piggybacking off someone else's IP. I think when the Perception palette is claimed as a dupe, it dismisses how beautiful it is in its own right.

I get what you mean when you say claiming the perception palette as a dupe dismisses how beautiful it is in its own right, but I look at it a bit differently. I think when people are calling it a dupe for born to run, they are trying to say that you really don't need to buy the high end born to run palette because the perception palette is just as great and you can get similar looks. I think that's a compliment to an affordable palette when you can say that you don't need to buy the high end palette because the affordable one is the same in quality, if not better. :) I don't own the born to run palette, but I do own the perception palette and you are right, it is beautiful in its own right. :)

I find myself on occasion writing these essays in the comments on Born to Run and Perception and it took me awhile to figure out why this particular dupe comparison bugged me. One of my favorite primer and foundation combos this season is the Nyx Angel Veil primer with the Physician's Formula Healthy Foundation. I was pleasantly surprised because I never thought that a more sheer, non-matte foundation would work on my oily skin with acne scars and rosacea, but it does! There is something about it's texture and pigmentation that evens my skin tone without needing to be heavy. Angel Veil is slightly mattifying as well as being blurring. Together, I get better looking skin that looks satiny rather than matte and chalky. Thanks for all of your terrific videos, Allie! Always Merry and Bright! ~Anastacia in Cleveland Edit: I also love the No 7 loose powder. It gives such a lovely glow to the skin. I haven't tried it with the combination noted above yet, but I will. You know the CP Good Sport palette has a unique color story when I knew that was the palette you were wearing the minute you started the video! I am totally going to try this look-I wasn’t sure how to wear the yellows and you look stunning! As far as my favorite products of the year, I have fallen in love with the L’Oréal Glotion (both light and medium) as my primer-it glows and makes my foundation last so well! Everything just looks better over that primer. So many of your favorites are mine too: the PF foundation, Ulta concealer, NYX banana powder, No 7 powder, Emily Edit Wants palette. I’d add the MR Soph does Nails eye palettes as well (especially the original, but I love both). I can’t wait for your other Best Of videos! I hope you had a very merry Christmas!

Maybelline colossal big shot is a great mascara. Always buying that one for the past 2 years. A good eye makeup remover is actually the Cetaphil makeup remover. Its a pretty close dupe to the Lancome one. Its not marketed as eye makeup remover specifically but it removes my waterproof mascara with no issues and is gentle.

You have checked off so many of my favorite drugstore items! Love the Milani palettes, Flower Beauty foundation is great, I wish I could find the PF foundation with a golden undertone. Out of all of my high end/drugstore palettes, hands down, Emily's the Wants palette is my absolute favorite. Unique, yet so wearable. The Kokie mascara is an absolute dream. Have you tried the Covergirl Melting Poute Liquid Lipstick Secret? 306 Ballerina is fantastic, but my favorite is the 340, Current Nude. I'm so glad that Covergirl is now a cruelty free brand. I think Colourpop’s Good Sport palette is one of the most unique color stories they’ve ever did. I enjoy it too. Also, the essence pure nude highlighter is still one of my absolute favorites even after trying sooooo many highlighters. Such a gorgeous subtle and natural glow.

There is a hybrid between the two brow products: L’Oréal Brow Stylist Definer. It’s super fine, very long lasting and the dark brunette shade is the only one I’ve ever found to work for me. Have you tried it??
