When I was growing up we rarely had bigilla as my gran said it was poor people's food. I doubt it's like that now but it used to be sold on the street. I love bigilla though it's such a pity I've not been able to replicate Maltese bread to go with it and I had an awful time getting the beans as in Malta they're supposed to come from the feed store. I miss Malta but I don't miss the crowds and crossing the street where it's the fast or the dead, I'm not fast anymore. I like it when it's warm but it can get really hot. I have to suffer the cold and the snow in Canada now.

The fish soup is not kapunata, it is called Aljotta. Kapunata is another Maltese dish which is a mix of peppers and tomatoes 😊

One thing kind of interesting when visiting is that a lot of locals said they rarely meet Americans. I guess I'm exotic over here. Americans haven't discovered Malta yet.
