Jackson has the best support I've ever seen from a flashlight seller! The E21A version is my absolute favorite 👍
@lightweaverx43813 жыл бұрын
And they just started including nichia 219b emitters too. 219b CRI is a few points lower than e21a but the 219b puts out 200 more lumen per emitter and the one I got from Jackson has the coveted rosy tint at 4500k. The noctigon e21a 4500k mule Brian reviewed earlier has a very slight rosy tint. The d4v2 e21a 4500k has a slight but absolutely beautiful yellowish tint. It is just pure class of light quality and no gimmicky pulse width modulation in any of them emisar or noctigon. If you want the best light quality emisar and noctigon serve that on a silver platter. The e21a 5000k I'm sure is a fine light to use, but it falls out of its CRI spec quickly at medium power and higher. Important info for someone wanting classical nichia cri. The 5000k may not be what you want.

It's really great outdoors. The CRI, rosy tint and the extra power over the e21a.

@lightweaverx43813 жыл бұрын
@@brokenlegz better throw I'm not sure but more power yes. Plus e21a is likely going to come with frosted optics on an emisar or noctigon. With more power amd clear optics the 219 can throw farther but as far as the led being designed better for throw I'm not sure.

There's a third option that is both high CRI *and* insanely bright, the SST-20 4000k
@lightweaverx43813 жыл бұрын
Those are throwy too. A nice outdoor ct and with some throw. Tint is where nichia separates itself from the sst emitters and the e21a 2700k through 4500k do still have a higher CRI. That sst outdoors is a great light though. Powerful and CRI.

these lights are an incredible value, such high quality. i have two d4v2 titanium versions, and an aluminum d4v2, all with the Nichia E21A emitters. My favorite is the E21A 2700 k color temp.. wonderful warm tint, the CRI of the E21A is awesome, beautiful colors, wish all my indoor lighting was of such quality.

The 18350 batteries will only be as bright as the 18650 batteries if they have the same amp output. A popular battery the Samsung 30Q is 15amp and the best 18350 I could find only does 10amp. With an sst20 or XPL emitter (like in the video) I would want a 15amp battery for the insane turbo. If your 18650 is only 10amp then it would be the same output as the 18350 but it means you’re missing out with the 18650 and it could be brighter!

Very timely video! I just decided last night to finally order one. Well, actually I need to decide on options first. Leaning towards SST20 4000k.

You will have more CRI with this LED vs the Cree. Just have to make sure you get the right bin for your SST20 4000k. I have the D4V2 SST20 4000k. It is slightly greenish in tint. I heard other bins don't have that.
@jamesmyname3 жыл бұрын
@@fynanceguy I've been wrestling with the potential tint issue. I hate green. I asked yesterday and they said the bin is FD2, which per the data sheet should be ok, I think. Worst case I'll get a minus green filter and apply that. Do you know which bin you have?
@fynanceguy3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmyname I don't. I buy from Jackson Lee. I would ask him which LED bin does not have the green tint. You can also get the Nichia e21a LED flashlight which supposedly has a slight rosy tint.

So Hank did a thing to the d4v2, d4sv2 and the kr4 quads. Dual channel tint ramping AND tint switching in the same light. What this means is you could order a quad with say, osram w1 emitters on channel 1 and xpl hi emitters on channel 2 and now you have a light that can instantly switch from a thrower to a flooder and even switch to turbo with both channels running max at the same time. Or you could say order a high CRI light with samsung or nichia emitters on channel 1 and sst20 4000K emitters on channel 2 and have a high CRI flood thrower combo. Or you could have red, blue, green or yellow osrams on one channel and white on another. Or if tint ramping interests you then you could say get a nichia or samsung 2700K on one channel and 4500K on the other channel and ramp between the two for whatever color temperature you wish in between them, and of course run both channel on max with turbo... The possibilities are endless..
