Because many have asked. When comparing lights, NW has a disadvantage during the day and CW has a disadvantage at night. It also depends on what kind of electric light you live with. If your ambient light is very cool white, it will make NW seem more Yellow, but if your ambient light is nice and warm, then CW will seem too blue.

I have been carrying the original one in Coyote tan at work for 4 years now. Still going strong. I'm heavy duty diesel mechanic, just today I was working on a unit laying in 4" of water. For 2 hours the light was completely submerged. Still works! Wish I would have bought 2.

Keep in mind that crenelated bezel can be considered an illegal weapon in some areas. It could be construed as premeditation. The regular edge of these lights can be just as damaging. I personally remove them. Not to mention, those bezels damage my pockets.

steve s you’re thinking too logically. I’m not talking about common sense. I’m talking about how cops or the courts may view it. For example, if you keep a baseball bat in your car for self defense, it could be construed as you were looking for a fight. Or, simply deemed a weapon. However, if you have a baseball bat, a glove and some balls in the car, it becomes something you use for playing baseball. The perceived intent changes. My point again, a flashlight with a crenelated bezel = weapon, without the bezel = flashlight. Both can inflict similar damage, it’s the perception that changes it. I have read countless articles and accounts of situations where cops, lawyers and courts manipulate the truth to make a person look bad, meanwhile all you wanted was to defend yourself should the situation arise. And to your point about self-defense techniques, if you’ve had formal training, and “win” the fight even because you were defending yourself, the argument could be made you had an advantage and used excessive force because of your training. There are SO MANY laws written in such a way that YOU HAVE to escape an aggressor if you can, whether it’s in your house or anywhere. The burden of proof is on the victim! I’ll leave with this, innocent law-abiding citizens have to think of these things, criminals don’t.

I preach this all the time a flashlight is a excellent self defense tool. You can take it anywhere mine runs on double aa so it’s always rocking always reliable. The most underrated thing about a flashlight is the concept that it’s portable cover shine a flashlight in your enemies direction you are a percentage concealed

I have similar lights with the mode button that has to be cycled to activate a desired mode. It's an aggravation much of the time having to press the button repeatedly to reach a desired mode. That's because I turn the light OFF, then 5 or 10 minutes later I want the operation of the same mode again, but I have to cycle the button again. A great improvement is a selector switch so I can set the switch to any available mode so when I press the ON button that mode operates immediately. There's times I much prefer the light to be activated in the very dim mode when I first turn it ON. Other times I want to be able to set the switch so it immediately comes on in the strobe mode because I prefer to remain incognito until the strobe is needed. When Strobe is necessary I don't want to have to cycle the light through other modes to get the strobe function to work. Yes, opinions differ on super bright and strobe. For me the dim red night mode is much appreciated because I do night photography.

I have the first generation (at least I think it's the 1Gen) that I have had for years. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I have several flashlights of different high-end brands and yours is my favorite. Whenever I go to place I can't carry a firearm (concert, etc) I feel much better knowing in a self defence situation, if all else fails, I can dig out someone a new eye socket with the end of my light. 👍(just noticed it says V2) 😁

Nicely done Jack! I’m still rockin the V3 and also have the V2 on my Bugout Kit. I like how you brought back the tail end from V2. Miss the lanyard option and I’ve had the light turn on a couple of times. That’s because I work with it doing labor work and always moving. Still one of the best lights on the market and highly recommend it to everyone. I always wear the strike bezel as a ring when needed. Works every time!😁👍🍻

Your video was very timely, because yesterday I saw a story about a bunch of conservatives who were trying to hold a rally in favor of police, but instead quickly became outnumbered by a large group of Antifa thugs and nearly got the shit beaten out of them, and were saved by a very hurried escape (although a bunch did wind up in the ER from their injuries). The tool here might work well for a one-on-one (or 2 or 3), but for a larger crowd where you want to keep the attackers at arms length, it might not do well. So here's what I think a lot of us would like to learn about: short of dressing up in Antifa-like garb and helmets, what would be the best equipment to bring to something where the risk of attack from a mob is high? While i'd love to default to my go to weapons, I fear that the use of lethal force wouldn't be a great idea (and aside from any pistol I can carry concealed, might not even be legal to bring loaded to such a situation), so something effective but not lethal is in order. But besides pepper spray, which isn't good for a big crowd, or a baseball bat or golf club, I haven't a clue as to what would be a more appropriate collection to bring as a defensive protocol for a mob-like situation all to common today that can also allow getting in a few good hits to boot, and possibly supply to a few friends. Any thoughts?

something most people overlook is fighting rings , the kind of rings you see bikers wearing . i have 7 ounces of silver plated brass on my left hand and 9 ounces on my right . totally legal to wear anywhere in the U.S. . basically they are brass knuckles without the disadvantage of breaking your hand when punching with them . if you know how to punch , you can sleep anyone foolish enough to step within striking distance . i am 53 , a couple years ago at a gas station this thug ran up on me and my wife with a knife . he cut me a little through a Carhartt jacket . i took all his front teeth . when the cops arrived he was still out cold , i only hit him twice .

This flashlight is great in every way but one. I use a tactical flashlight in the "overhand position" and use my thumb to give "half presses" to get "momentary on" to be able to get a quick glance into an area. This allows me to be able to use the flashlight as a "kubotan" type weapon if I get jumped. The spring in the tailswitch is too strong to be able to comfortably do that. I am forced to hold the light in the "cigar position" to use "momentary on". Until I can solve this, I will keep using my old flashlight. Before someone tells me to go to the gym and develop some strength, I am 69 years old and have arthritis. Even if I didn't have that, the spring is too strong and is stronger than other flashlights I have used over the years. Also, half of the customers who need this light are women.

Red lights are used in submarines and on inshore and offshore boats and in airplanes at night just to name a few... because it degrades your eyes ability to distinguish objects in darkness or low light conditions much less than regular white or yellowish light , and you may need to transition in a hurry... like exiting a plane in a night jump .
