If you have to long arc it to get it to run, you need higher amperage setting.

if you start a 1/2 in or so from the start an then push up to the start the puddle will be hot flows a little bettr. awesome job looks gr8

High nickel rods. And pre heat a must. Post heat is a great thing as well (slow cooling)

You can probably get away with 7018(check my previous video) but it’s not pretty or trust worthy. Ni55 or Ni99 electrodes are most common for cast iron, but these “cast iron” electrodes by the KT Industries brand worked amazing for me!

@@newageautotechnology I heated before and after but since this isn’t really a super important weld it was more of a practice than anything. Thank you for the advice though.
