My hair is in protective styles a large majority of the time. People always ask why I don't wear my hair out more. I need them to know I really just cannot be bothered, LOL. I'm 97% more likely to have a bad hair day if my hair is out. But thank God I can put something ON TOP of my hair to cover it. Usually either a wrap or a wig.

I treat every day like a bad hair day. I twist in medium twists once a week and keep head Wrapped up 24/7 / whenever I leave the house. I don't have time to worry about new styles, losing moisture, or over manipulation. People may think that I'm bald headed under the wrap, but I don't have a care to share. 😃

I've tried finger coiling a little bit before, but it gets very time consuming if you have longer curls. I would get pretty lazy with it and make them too thick, then they'd shrink up into weird little shirley temple sausage curls that I am not too fond of... I actually get a much cuter shrinkage look if I brush a curl creme or even gel through all my hair with a Denman brush. Definitely a quicker solution than finger coiling each strand.

When I was relaxed and loose natural my bad hair day fix was two braids down the sides. To white people this was beautiful. To black people, they new truth. Also as a loose natural there was the upside down braid. Everybody thought I was really doing something. Finally as a loose natural my other bad hair day thing was to tie a scarf around my neck, put on big sunglasses and red lipstick. People thought my hair was part of the “look”.

My hair isnt exactly kinky but it is quite curly and is unruly if i dont do anything about them. So what I like to do is just tie it up really high then do a messy bun. What I like about this trick is that after tying it up for a few hours, the curls look a lot nicer when i let my hair down. Add a few clips in some areas and it looks like thats how they were originally planned to be styled.

+JayAntoinette - Hello! Actually, headwraps come in solid colors, with no patterns / prints, as well that are appropriate for places with dress codes. There are many videos here on KZbin dedicated to various head wrapping techniques that are more subtle for a place with stern dress codes. Same with subtle hats on the market. Getting creative with hair accessories is another option for creating cute styles with "bad hair day" hair. Hair accessories such as bobby pins (standard ones or various colors), Scunci Upzing, Poof It, stretchy headbands, modified stretchy headbands, and other hair accessories can save a "bad hair day" as well'. There's also KZbin videos with multiple style options as well. Being creative with confidence is the most important key to successfully dealing with a "bad hair day". Hopefully, this helps!
