Also deep condition (apply a mask on your hair, then a plastic bag, a hot towel and close it all with an another plastic bag. leave at least for 30 mins) at least once a week and try to wash it one time a week or two. Also, European hair that is wavy or curly looks really nasty and weird if it loses its shape because it doesn't straighten out completely. It looks like you've got cowlicks all over and is just a mess. Because the hair doesn't know what to do so it just does all kinds of weird half waves. Not the type you see at the beach. Hate to do it but I'm going to say it again - you guys don't know anything about European hair

I found it necessary to comment and share sharing a contrary narrative and perspective of the video. I really don't get why everyone is hating on Grace. They're different people with different personalities. I don't think grace was being rude. She was sharing her experience as much as Evelyn was, and that was the point if the video. If I don't deep condition and hold my curls with gel etc. My hair will be dry and curls undefined and look poofy. If Grace' s hair is weighed down, her waves don't show and it was weighed down from the minute she started detangling. And her hair is clearly not bone, silky straight. She has loose waves that she defines with scrunching. Why are tighter textures allowed to have a heavy wash day process and do the most but not someone with looser texture? Evelyn may not have said it with her words but her body language expressed disdain for Grace's wash day working for her hair. They were both equally incredulous while being good natured because there is a recognition that their hair is different and their different heads of hair have different needs. Felt no bad vibes from Grace at all in this video.
@Christine-xj2ke7 жыл бұрын
you are so right, i thought both girls were very funny. I didn't find Grace to be disrespectful or whiny as so many people said. I have natural hair and I'm proud of my hair, but I think some women are too sensitive and become extremely defensive about their hair journey. a lot of people are commenting on the fact that Grace uses products to make her wave pattern more defined. really!! just think about all the products we put in our hair to get that perfect curl pattern. It doesn't just happen naturally. some of these ladies need to lighten up, it's not meant to be taken so seriously.

My average wash day: 1) Wet hair with spray bottle 2) Separate into 4 sections and detangle with a heavy detangler 3) Rinse out the detangler and shampoo 1 or twice depending on product buildup 4) Detangle again before conditioning 5) Use heavy conditioner and let sit for 4 minutes 6) Rinse out and section hair off into 4 sections again 7) apply a mix of deep conditioner and oils (jojoba, olive, rosemary etc.) throughout my whole head 8) sit under the dryer for 30 minutes 9) rinse out and apply cream leave 10) separate hair into 8 sections and add eco styler and a cream to each twist 11) do a mixture of 2 stand and 3 strand twists and leave overnight for the next day and people wonder why wash day has to be scheduled and Is dreaded by most naturals ._.

Detangle hair with the conditioner still in my hair 5. Rinse out conditioner 6. Detangles damp hair 7. Part into 8 pieces 8. Detangle again and blow dry with high heat 9. When hair is completely dry, part hair into ten pieces and put hair grease in the parts. 10. Style

Eclectisapien Misses your comment really made me reevaluate my comment. But sometimes I do believe curl pattern does matter. Say for instance Bantu knot outs. The finished product may look hella different on a in straight hair than it does on kinky hair and that's were the backlash usually happens. I guess that's what I meant, probably just on the wrong type of video. Thanks for helping me understand, more knowledge more power. (I feel like I just did the most on this comment.)

Nah, only the black girl. Once they switch routines the other girl used stuff with less harmful chemicals and it would hydrate her hair preventing breakage. She should be more than fine now unlike before.
@trashboat79487 жыл бұрын
i don't know much about straight hair, so i could be wrong, but wouldn't adding that much moisture in that short amount of time to hair that's not used to it lead to hydro fatigue?
@momopies127 жыл бұрын
Only if she does is every day. With black girls on our wash day we usually keep it in a moisture sealing protective style for a while until our hair feels like it needs to be moisturized again, and we usually only wash our hair about once biweekly or once a month unless you've been to a pool or beach which makes you have to wash your hair anytime you go there.
@trashboat79487 жыл бұрын

I think the only reason Evelyn's side comments don't feel as annoying as Graces is because I can relate to what Evelyn is going through. Graces biggest problem is loss of volume and disruption to her "waves" and to me it doesn't seem that deep; wash it one time and you're Gucci. with Evelyn it just looks like damaging move after damaging move and I legit cringed in my seat anticipating the damage her hair could be going through. So in comparison her complaints just feel really unimportant to me
@pukk60947 жыл бұрын
My hair is like a little wavy so i know nothing about curly hair or can relate to Evelyn but in my opinion Evelyn was not really complaining, grace was tho like she can wash all the product out of her hair later and the way she kept saying that her hair was going to be so straight and weight down was really annoying

Y’all don’t understand how wavy hair works. Yes, it looks straight when it’s weighed down with a lot of product. But you can’t scrunch pin straight hair. You have to have texture for the waves to hold. Scrunching straight hair will just tangle it and it won’t hold at all. And it does take very light products to enhance the waves. I have the same texture as Grace, and oils and heavy products will make the hair straight and oily. Some products work on wavy hair and not natural hair, and vise versa. People are coming at Grace like rocks!
@geministargazer98305 жыл бұрын
It’s me • 46 years ago my hair is wavier than hers so I can take some heavier products. But my hair is kind of weird, it’s got like 2 different textures and it’s very thick. There’s a fine line between smoothing the fluffiness and weighing down the curls lol
@kaylinann9145 жыл бұрын
I have naturally straight hair and if I scrunch it it does give me some texture. True, just that alone won’t give her result, but she also used a bunch of other crap to achieve that result. Believe me, if I used a diffuser, sea salt spray & the abundance of other curly hair products she did my hair would look just like that.
@julzalta64664 жыл бұрын
@@kaylinann914 I have straight hair. Straight straight, like to have her wave I must do it with a curler and put a tone of hairspray on it. If I just scruch my hair with a tone of mousse, it just look like I have put dirt on my hair and then it dried... With a diffuser, I have some volume but it's still straight.
@kaylinann9144 жыл бұрын
Julz Alta you weren’t using products specifically made for curly hair according to your comment (aka the abundance of products she was using for curly hair). Trust me, her hair is NOT wavy. It’s straight. The natural texture she’s claiming to have is unobtainable naturally (without product)....that’s the point here.
