The BEST fiberglass resin? UV RESIN SHOOTOUT!

Never used the Solarez, but the Sunflash resin is absolutely amazing. Tested it out before I decided to use for my sub enclosure that I’m currently designing. The Sunflash resin cured in the sun on a cold day here in Ohio. The outside temp was about 40 degrees with moderate moisture in the air, out in the sun. The Sunflash cured rock hard in about 15ish minutes. On a different day that was about 87 deg with moderate humidity in the summer, the outer coat of resin cured rock hard in about 5 minutes. Flipped the mold over and another 10 minutes to fully cure. The tests were done on 19oz woven mat used for pool repairs. That is what I’m planning to use for the enclosure. Only the bottom of enclosure is going to be glass, the baffle and all side panels are going to be birch.

Awesome video man, just ordered a gallon of SMD today for my current build. I hadn’t heard of Solarez, or it’s been a long time since I heard that name, it does kinda ring a bell. Do you know if it can be used on top of an already formed piece of fiberglass using traditional 2 part resin, like Bondo resin?

I have no idea! The most frustrating part about either one of these products is the manufacturers don't really give you a lot of information. These two things might have the exact same formulation, but with a different tint or pigment. But then again, they might be completely different chemistries.

So have you replaced your passive radiator? Just curious. I'm experimenting with different subs. Currently have 1 box with 2- 12" alpine type R and in a separate 2 cubic ft box a skar VXF with a rockford T-1500. The alpine box is tuned to bout 40 Hz the VXF is @ 28 Hz. Odd I know and prob frowned upon but the versatility is way cool. EVERYTHING sounds amazing. I wont go into it but there's components up front and 6x9s in the rear and are kickers ds series pushed by skv 100.4 far from high end, far from the cheapest. Just right.
